A beautiful historic manor in southern Dalsland, surrounded by an enormous and peaceful park. The newer guest rooms in the separate buildings are comfortable with a shared terrace, with sheep grazing directly behind the rooms. The lakeside setting is excellent, with easy access for swimming, canoeing or SUP, a sauna by the water, rentable kayaks, small islands, bridges and plenty of quiet places to stay for a while. The staff were friendly, and Håverud, Upperud and other Dalsland destinations are easy to reach by car (or even boat via the Dalslands Kanal).
The property has enormous potential, but in our view the price level currently exceeds the overall standard delivered. Some areas of the grounds and older structures would benefit from renovation and fresh maintenance. Dinner is quite inflexible, at least during off season, with a fixed menu structure and limited choice, which becomes restrictive during a multi-night stay. The concept and pricing suggest an upscale experience, but the maintenance, flexibility and consistency do not yet fully match that positioning. Breakfast itself was good, but clearing the buffet exactly at 10:00 without first informing remaining guests felt unnecessarily rigid.

Det vackra läget med den fantastiskt vackra engelsk parken var en upplevelse. Även trevligt med terass framför varje rum.
Middagen, med en set menu var mycket god och personalen vänlig, uppmärksam och tillmötesgående.
Rummen skulle vara mer välkomnande om det fanns egen vattenkokare, koppar och kaffepulver samt glas för vatten. Nu kändes rummet enkelt.

Fin sjö. Bra frukost.
Usel service på middagen drog ned betyget.
Knöliga kuddar i sovrummet. Bara möjligt att vädra genom att öppna dörren (risk att djur kommer in). Dåligt skyltat för badet.
