The place is absolutely fabulous with its historic and welcoming vibe, and friendly and familiar people. Breakfast menu is decent for the price, and there are plenty of options around because the place is located in convenient and gorgeous spot (Cathedral view)! Definitely recommend for a couple of night's stay!
Didn't appreciate that there was limited night reception.

Bathroom nice but bath/shower hard to get into. Blind at window mouldy.
Light over sink too high to reach to turn on!

Location was excellent. The staff were excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel and the surrounding area of St Alban's, which is a very pretty, historic town. Also the morning chef adapted the menu and was happy to cook something not listed. The breakfasts were very good. The rooms had an ironing board and iron, toiletries and also tea and coffee making facilities.
A very old building, so possibly not suitable for those not so able, as quite a few stairs to rooms. Possibly the rooms could have been a bit cleaner, ie skirtings, window ledges properly cleaned but really this was a minor issue.

It's an old building so expect some creakiness but still go because of its great charm and friendly staff."
