Good for budget travellers

Very close to the shops and restaurants, and in walking distance to the ferry terminals. Free parking is a good service. The room is clean and large. The building is old, but it's a part of its charm.

The common kitchen, especially the freezer was not very clean. The TV in our room didn't work.

The location.

My room stank of humidity. The tiles in the shower were not clean.. The kitchen for the guests was filthy. Especially the cupboards and the refrigerators. The bed creeked with even the slightest movement. Staff was on the verge of being impolite.

Disappointing

Good location, close to the ferry terminal and quiet area. Staff was great and serviceminded and explaining how to get the key

Room was clean but smelled weird, bathroom was poorly cleaned, specially the floor meets wall area and the bathroom also smelled faintly bad as well. Also found a bug in the duvet that was folded.

Excellent budget accomodation in the center of Frederikshavn.

Spacious room, very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. Handsome old building with somewhat dated and quirky rooms. This isn't a hotel, so manage your expectations a bit. Late arrival worked very well. The location is perfectly situated for exploring the center of Frederikshavn, as is the free parking, which can otherwise be somewhat pricey.

We were recommended not to use the elevator after staff hours (18:00), so we didn't. We also didn't think to order breakfast - which at least in the off-season needs to be ordered in advance. Completely understandable, so that's on us. The person on staff when we left wasn't aware that our room was pre-paid through booking.com, and I couldn't remember whether it was or not, so I ended up paying twice. This was easily rectified by the owner/proprietor by email communication later.

Decent hostel

Pretty much the definition of a hostel. Cheap (even when renting linnen) but decent place to sleep. Friendly staff who checked me in earlier than the 16:00 stated on the website.

The bathroom was a bit dirty. Also the area around the hostel is badly lit at night, making it not the most comfortable walk back to your room.

Very Clean and Quiet Hostel

This place is very close to the ferry, about a 1 minute walk once out of the walkway. It was probably the cleanest place I had stayed during my travels in Denmark. The room was quiet other then some people on the street when the window was open. We did not stay for breakfast but it looked good.

The bathroom was a little tight sized at the sink. No place to set much down when you had 5 people in the room.

Not good value for money

The location was very good and enough space for us in the family room (parents, 3 children, 1 baby)

The communication beforehand was short tempered and unfriendly. The room had an unpleasant smell, especially the bathroom stank. The shower was unfortunately very moldy. For the previously requested baby crib, we had to call again on site. Overall, we would not book there again.

The proximity to the DFDS Terminal. Free parking.

Too basic. There wasn't even soap to wash our hands. The bathroom smelled of sewege. We had to rent linen and towels and put them on ourselves! Not worth the price. Only stay here if you absolutely have to.

Only reason we continued staying , there was no other place avaleble.

Location of the hotel

Came late for check inn du to problems with the travel. Had to call Duty Phone to check inn. Was met by a arrogant angry person om the dutyphone. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. beetles in the bathroom. Burn holes in bedding. Only small towels. A lot of noise from other rooms.

Exceptional

There was all we needed at an extremely reasonable price. Compare it to what you have to pay for a cup of coffee and a roll buttered and one slice of cheese in a bakers shop. Nicely presented in a clean and cosy room. No stress at all.

Very good

One needs to remember that this is a hostel and I'm rating it based on on that. The location is great and this hostel offers a clean room, bed and bathroom. Would recommend the breakfast as it is plentiful with a lot of different choices. We contacted the front desk to confirm our arrival time and he was kind enough to say that he would wait for us since we would possibly be later than planned. For a hostel stay this is a good one.

I enjoyed the place and the stay.

Even though we did not order the breakfast at booking we told the employee we wanted breakfast and he had breakfast ready for us. It was also a very good Danish breakfast.

We were coming in late and we said this on the booking, but we didn't see that we needed to call the day of at a certain time. The emergency number given was good and we were able to complete the day knowing we had a place to stay. It would have been better to have been notified before the day of travel.

Superb

The location is perfect. 2 minutes drive from ferry. We had 6 persons room, 3 bunkbeds. Breakfast and bedlinnen was not inclusive in Booking price. Breakfast was very good. Perfect.price quality balance

Heating in the room was too high, but could only get adjusted from the reception, which was closed in the night. Some noise from people leaving the bars, but not problematic

Great arrangements for extra late arrival.. Being made to feel most welcome. Love the youth hostels international community. Breakfast buffet compared well with the very best and overpriced hotels.

Cheap and dirty

Cheap.

It was very dirty. The first room had some obvious brown stains in the toilet, so I asked for a room change. The second room (where I stayed for 3 nights) had a lot of crumbs on the table and on the floor. The shower curtain looked as if it hadn't been washed for months. There was a lot of accumulated dirt in the shower room which could be easily washed away. I don't think that they clean after each group of guests.

Meets Expectation in a busy city

1. Amazing location, right at the centre 2. The price to location

1. The staff was not very friendly (not rude either) 2. The toilet was extremely cramped. The design had major issues. Half of the toilet was the wash basin, no need for such a huge wash basin,..:-)

Pleasant

Excellent location. Cheapest availible.

Poor room, broken toilet door. Noise from neighbors and gangway. Many kitchen facilities 👍🏻, however the freezer was unplugged when microwave was used and not plugged back leading to wasted food.
