Located on the shores of one of Belgrade’s many fine parks, ArkaBarka Floating Hostel is just a 2-minute walk from the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Palace of Serbia. The hostel floats on the Danube River and offers simply furnished rooms.

Special location on river. Nice breakfast, buffet.
We made a mistake and booked an extra room, which we did not need and did not use. There was no flexibility with a refund, not even for the 2nd night.

The location was fabulous and so were the employees. Free public transportation was reliable and just a short walk from the hostel, plus the employees arranged taxis whenever we needed them. Also within easy walking distance were several restaurants, bars and watersports along the Danube. The ambiance of staying right on the river couldn't be beat; our balcony looked across the Danube toward a tree lined island and we were visited every morning by ducks, crows and swans! We also loved Leo the resident cat and the fact that there was recycling on site and soft beds.
The nearness of several drinking establishments did make it quite noisy until early morning on Friday and Saturday nights.

Breakfast was good. The room and public bath was ok. Free parking is not far from the hostel but it might take 15 min. by walk. Limited bus options but if you go thought the main street you can find another bus options.
We couldn’t open the windows during our stay because of bugs.

Location, the concept of sleeping on a boat and being close to nature, polite service, delicious breakfast
I would have love to give a higher rating, and after the first night I probably would have, but on the second night a group of people organized a party in the shared area on the lower deck of the boat and were very loud. Due to the shouting and the boat shakes we were unable to sleep. The party went on for a long time, and even around 4 am there was still shouting. I don't understand why, since the reception is supposed to be open 24/7, none of the staff intervened to ensure the comfort of the guests. It's a pity, because the place is truly charming.
