Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa

Tutto bellissimo, personale sempre accogliente e posto davvero mozzafiato. Camera sempre ordinata e pulitissima, cibo eccellente.

Location is unbeatable! The infrastructure of the hotel is great. The rooms were very nice (with some issues). Sebastian at the reception and the ladies at the Concierge office were great, professional and super friendly. We did several off-site experiences that were amazing (jet ski tour, lagoon experience and deep sea fishing). 10 points for these employees and these activities! It’s the third time we stay in this hotel (twice as Meridien, and now as Westin). The infrastructure and the activities in Bora Bora offered by the concierge remain almost the same. In our first two stays we only had great opinions about the hotel in general and left looking forward to come back. This time it was good but not perfect. I must say it is not what it used to be (see negatives).

We encountered rude personnel. Breakfast example: We ordered coffee and after 30min it had still not arrived. When I asked the manager she replied I should notice there were another 100 persons there and I should wait. Beach example: Many damaged umbrellas and only a part of the beach in front of the pool were fully stoked. Since we were six persons, and one had a melanoma in the past we needed good shade. I asked the beach personnel if they could move an umbrella from the back next to the one we were using (base was there and available, only the umbrella had to be moved). The employee rejected my request stating “he was not allowed” to move umbrellas. I finally had to go to the reception to ask for “allowance” to move an umbrella, which he finally did unwillingly. By the way, if umbrellas get damaged I would expect they get replaced, and not piled up behind the beach office. Many sunbeds had no umbrella. The eco-center is gone. As Meridien this was one of the highlights. The eco-center was full of fish and many turtles in recovery. There was a marine biologist explaining in practice everything about the ocean and we could swim with turtles. The eco-center is still there, but the reserve area is empty of fish or turtles. There was only one turtle which is rarely outside of the recovery area tanks. Swimming with turtles is no longer possible and the experience is more theoretical than practical. We had 2 Overwater Suites with pool. One room was impeccable, the other one not. When we arrived there was a broken pipe in the shower. The first day they did nothing to resolve it. Only after I complained at the reception the problem was resolved, but we had for 2 days sewage smell in the room. The doorbell, front light and audio in the terrace was not working. The pool had broken bottom covers which resulted in us getting sometimes our feet stuck in the suction hole. Light and bell were fixed fast, the rest no. Many bicycles had damages seats and brakes.

The Westin Bora Bora Resort and Spa is a little piece of paradise. White sand beaches, warm blue water and exceptional overwater bungalows to stay in were just superb. The buffet breakfast was amazing with everything from fresh croissants and fruit to French toast and waffles. All the staff are so friendly and attentive. We even spotted a sea turtle in the lagoon!

An afternoon yoga class (instead of just an early morning class) would have been nice.

The location and the view , and the most friendly are the ladies who teach us Dance class

* In room 269, the bathroom flush activates automatically every 20 minutes, which is extremely disturbing. * Despite requesting room cleaning, no housekeeping service was provided. * Most concerning, however, was the unprofessional and unpleasant behavior of the front desk staff. It was very difficult to reach them by phone. When we tried to order dinner, we were told that since we hadn’t placed a deposit, we could not order because they “didn’t have a portable card machine.” The staff’s tone was dry, dismissive, and unprofessional, making us feel as though we were unable to pay — which is completely unacceptable. We are paying guests in a high-end Marriott property. How can someone staying in one of the most expensive villa categories be denied a simple food order such as a pizza or eggs, because of poor staff handling? Ironically, later that same day, we were able to successfully pay for other food items — clearly showing this was a service failure, not a financial limitation. This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. I am forced to complete my stay because other resorts on the island are fully booked, but I will strongly advise others not to spend their money on a resort that fails to respect its guests or uphold Marriott’s professional standards. This has been, unfortunately, the worst experience I have had in Bora Bora, entirely due to poor management and staff conduct.
