Booked a 4 bunk bed as wanted a private room. Would have been good to know this

The youth hostel is located in a nice area close to the city center of Basel. The building is very modern and gives you the feeling of "being at home". Nice corners to read a book or plan further travels, a bar with local beers and ice, terrace for breakfast, play corner for kids, books from all kind of topics to get inspiration, a small stream in front of the door, large trees,.... We stayed in a four bunk beds room with shared bathroom and it all was amazing. We even slept very well and everything was really clean.
I believe the breakfast could be a bit more "mature"... there was not enough bread, would love to have eg eggs. But this is a matter of expectation. In total, the stay was great.

the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean
it was a really big hostel with not a lot of people so it didn’t have a welcoming hostel vibe to meet people etc

"It was basically just another big institutional Swiss Hostel, run like a well oiled Swiss clock. Nothing fancy about it, but very clean rooms, a decent breakfast, and I even bought one of their dinner..."
