This lovely house sits in particularly attractive and interesting bit of the Peak District and comfortably lived up to its excellent reviews. Whilst the room enjoyed some of the idiosyncrasies of older houses it was really comfortable. The welcome was warm, helpful and genuinely friendly. And breakfast comfortably lived up to its previous rave reviews, particularly thanks to the local or home made ingredients.

Another great stay at this most welcoming B.andB..Lovely room, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast(inc Manx kippers),all set in a wonderfully quiet and peaceful location. Tea and biscuits on arrival and excellent bar choice.Most amenable host and staff.

Beautiful building, lovely gardens, great location, lovely views, dark skies, very quiet, great breakfast, homemade jams, local produce, homemade welcome cakes!
Quite expensive, but worth the money for the exclusivity only 3 bedrooms for guests so very quiet. Breakfast was very quiet, could do with some more noise, lost of chomping and knives and forks on good crockery, but that may be a purely personal issue

Best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel or guest house ever. The granola was delicious and so good, I bought some to take home.
Being an older property, the floorboards had a little bit of bounce in them. The bedroom door rattled a little when someone crossed the room. We fixed this with a little bit of tissue trapped in the top corner of the door. Would suggest the owner puts a strip of door draught excluder tape along the top of the door frame jamb to dampen the rattle.
