Good business hotel with friendly staff.

A very good business hotel. It isn't all that luxurious but it's a great hotel for a 1 or 2 night stay in Yogyakarta while visiting the surrounding temples. Staff is very friendly and truly there to help.

Location is not ideal. Although to be fair Yogyakarta is just a sprawling chaotic city and I still struggle to understand where the ideal location would be. Value for money is not the hotel's strongest point.

Superb

The hospitality of staff is exceptional. They all smile and always ready to help. The breakfast is just outstanding with a lot of options.

The room is not soundproof as we can hear people walking and door closing outside.

Superb

All staff were very friendly and humble. The indoor kids' play area was very organised and clean. The room was spacious but can be maintained better. Housekeeping was also very good and did a good job. Their breakfast variety was a good spread. Everyday, for a week, they offered different dishes.

The view for the room was supposed to be mountain view but we received a pool view. It would have been better if the view was right.

great location shopping mall street food restaurant just near by and beautiful garden.

lots of fine ants in room like bathroom and near the carpet. they left tooth paste/soap mark on the bathroom counter

a visit to Yogyakarta is incomplete if you don't stay at Royal Ambarrukmo

homely atmosphere with views of the garden and Mount Merapi, especially the various variations of the breakfast menu

although I once suggested that it would be better if gamelan performances were abolished if they were not placed in an honorable position as education for the nation's children, it turns out that now there are no gamelan anymore, I feel a loss too.

If only....

The service and the breakfast was great. Room size is good with a nice balcony.

The bathroom grouting was really dirty... it was cringy whenever i had to shower. And the towels were not fluffy. That is just me though... if only the bathroom could somehow be better cleaned..

Good for Kiddos

we love the facilities especially for my kids because they can playing around on the kids club and on the swimming pool. the location besides the Mall Ambarukmo so we can easily go there.

the bed was not so comfortable enough for us and the bathroom’s floor was slippery.

Just about everything was top notch experience

plumbing fixtures need a bit more maintenance to address water leaks even when the shower was closed tight. it may be a rare small issue in just one room however i had to call for assistance twice - once for main shower and again for hand shower in a span of 2 days

Breakfast was good. Better than what the so called “popular place” to eat in Jogja. The children’s amenities are good too with the kids club and slides at the pool. The staff on duty at the kids club in the morning is excellent and made my kids feel welcomed and played with them.

It is too bad and sad that the outdoor seating in the breakfast area is for smoking and the proximity is so close to the children’s swimming pool. So kids are becoming secondhand smokers due to it.

It was well worth of money and we will definitely come back when we visit Yogyakarta next time

The room is exceptionally clean, the hotel smells amazing, the breakfast is good though I heard it used to be even better, the staff is very helpful especially Rio. He was very attentive when we wanted to use the pool in the evening. We came hear 10 years a go and the standard has been well maintained. We were truly impressed

The lady from the bar in the lobby was not very friendly when we said we want to move from the smoking to a non smoking area and asked her to find a non reserved table
