I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional experience I had during my recent stay at Hobsons Choice Motel in Dargaville. From the moment we checked into their establishment, we were greeted with warmth from the lovely lady at the front desk. The room provided was well presented, comfortable and impeccably clean. The bed was very comfortable and so lovely to sleep on. What truly made our stay memorable was the peaceful environment the motel offered. It provided the perfect sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation that allowed us to unwind after a long day of travel. Thank you once again for providing such a wonderful accommodation option. Everything was everything and more. The staff and owners were extremely helpful. It made a refreshing weekend.

We would have liked breakfast but unfortunately, they stopped the offer now! Possibly because we could accommodate by making our own. Which was why we marked the above. Because it was our first time there and not knowing the system it would have been helpful to have let us know so that we could have brought food ourselves!

Cozy motel in outskirts of town

Facilities were excellent, owner was very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable, shower had good water pressure and room was nice and clean. Overall very much enjoyed our stay

Very good

Clean, comfortable, nice staff and reasonably quiet.

The room was a bit gloomy with one set of windows and skylights over the kitchen area and bathroom. Microwave only.

Good size for a family of four. Good location for travelling around Northland.

The decor and furnishings are very dated, which is not necessarily a problem. However, the kitchen and bathroom both need a revamp - and given how much it costs to stay here, this really should be done by the owners. In the kitchen, the oven didn’t work at all - and a hand-written sign stuck on it said as much. The bathroom laminate is chipped, the toilet is worse for wear, the shower floor is dangerously uneven and sunken in, and the overall look of that room is very shabby. Outside the main bedroom window there is a row of lanterns that are turned onto high beam all night, making sleep impossible. The bedrooms need blockout curtains or blinds.

Though an older property it was exceptionally clean and well maintained in a quiet location and the manager was very pleasant and accommodating.

It would benefit from having an oven.

Very clean Motel , excellant facilities, really were impresssed how nice and roomy and well set out unit was.

The couch was so uncomfortable and as we have bad backs it was not the best. Not very bad in the overall excellant stay
