The room was very spacious and comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Although my window overlooked the road, it was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb - very good value, compared with other hotels, and freshly cooked to order with top quality ingredients. Highly recommended.
I would have liked the bar to have stayed open a little longer so I could have had a drink when I returned at night. However, it was after 23.30, so it's understandable.

Great location, lovely big grand building, with a great sprawling beer garden. Rooms and bathrooms are large and spacious, clean tidy and the beds were comfortable enough.
Nothing major really. If you are unsteady in your feet or have mobility issues then the stairs to the rooms are uneven and there are lots of doors to negotiate.
We arrived back at the property at 22.45 on a Saturday night expecting to be able to have a drink, but was told last orders had been called already at 22.45.
We were staying at the property so I would have expected to be able to get a drink, even if last order had been called.
It is the little things that make your stay enjoyable and this could have been better.

Clean, well presented room. Friendly, professional staff.
Had to wait over one hour for fillet steak from point of ordering. Ordered medium to rare, arrived well done. Waited a further half hour for correctly cooked steak to arrive.
