The property is amazing, the staff - Yulia and Yulia - so helpful. The bistrot was superb, the best raspberry cake ever. The place was immaculate and in a great location. You really felt looked after.
Only the beds were a little firm for my old back after a day of walking. And a kettle would be nice.

The location was great and the facilities were perfectly fine. Breakfast was good with a decent range of options, and the reception staff were excellent - consistently pleasant, helpful and accommodating. In fact, the reception team were the highlight of our stay.
We had an altercation with a member of the security team regarding parking. He misunderstood the situation and did not realise that we were hotel guests and had permission to park. However, what was most disappointing was the way he chose to speak to us. His tone was raised, his demeanour was rude and belittling, and he spoke to us in a manner that was completely inappropriate towards guests. Even after the situation was explained, there was no apology or acknowledgement that his behaviour had been unacceptable.
Misunderstandings happen. What is much harder to understand is a member of staff feeling it is acceptable to address guests in this way. A challenging situation can almost always be resolved through calm, professional communication; there was simply no need for shouting or such an aggressive manner. This interaction unfortunately wiped out much of the positive impression we had formed of the hotel.
Our only lunch at the hotel was also disappointing. What should have been a straightforward meal for two salads took around an hour. There was no proactive communication from the waiting staff about the delay - even a simple acknowledgement that our order was taking longer than expected would have made a difference. When we asked for an update after around 40 minutes, we were repeatedly told to wait “just five minutes”, followed by another 20 minutes before the food arrived. By that point, we had to leave.
Once again, there was no apology or acknowledgement of the poor service.
Ultimately, it was not the facilities or the hotel itself that left us disappointed; it was the standard of professionalism and, in particular, the way certain members of staff felt it was acceptable to speak to guests. The reception team demonstrated exactly the level of courtesy and service we would expect from a hotel. Unfortunately, the interactions with security and restaurant staff fell well below that standard and significantly impacted our impressions of the hotel.
