"My favorite part about this hotel was the location. It’s essentially located right on the main shopping arcade, so shops and food are always close. Aside from that, the actual room itself is clean but..."

Easy check-in and check-out. Very reasonable price. Room was a good size for rate we paid. Staff very helpful

Smooth and fast check-in, a male staff(English speaking) led me the check-in machine to assist me. The complimentary in-house drip coffee is wonderful. It is near to eating places. After checked-in for the 1st night, I decided to book for 2 more nights, however the room type of the 3rd night was different from the 1st & 2nd nights(non-smoking type), I went to the check-in counter and a lady staff(English speaking) was very helpful and arrange me to stay at the same room for throughout the 3 nights, only charge me for a very reasonable price(500 yen) to change upgrade the 3rd night to non-smoking room type.
1. The room make-up service is Confusing.Usually hotels will ask their guest to hang a "non-disturb" sign if they want to skip make-up service; if there is no "don't disturb" sign, the staff will understand that they need to clean the room. However, this hotel is opposite, you have to show a "made-up room request sign", if not no body will clean your room. 2. After checked-out, I asked the staffs at the counter how to choose the pick-up location if I want to use Uber. All the 4 lady staffs can't even understand and speak English. I even showed them the Apps, and they still could not understand. 3. The hotel is quite far from train station, ferry terminal and main shopping area. Additional comment (4 Sep 25) : I have read the hotel’s spokesperson’s response to my comment. Clearly, they have once again misunderstood my point. I never mentioned Uber Eats in my comment. What I referred to was using Uber for ride-hailing, and that none of the hotel staff could explain to me in English where the pickup point was. All they did was glance at my phone and give me a helpless look, as if to say, “I don’t understand,” without making any effort to assist. I can understand and accept the difficulties caused by this kind of language barrier. What I find unacceptable is the hotel’s response. Shifting the focus and even distorting the facts seems aimed at covering up the hotel’s own shortcomings. This is not the attitude expected from a service-oriented industry, and it stands in stark contrast to the widely praised Japanese standard of hospitality (omotenashi). This is not the attitude expected of the service industry, and I urge the hotel to engage in serious self-reflection and take accountability. If there are mistakes, they should be corrected; if not, take this as an encouragement to uphold high standards, rather than making unnescessary and unconvincing excuses.
