The biggest highlight of Desert Breeze Lodge is without question the exceptional setting and views over the desert. The location is beautiful, and the views from both the room and the lounge area are spectacular. Sitting in the room and looking out over the desert almost feels like looking at a painting. It is a very special experience and probably worth staying here for one night simply to enjoy the setting. The location also works well if you have your own vehicle and are comfortable driving into Swakopmund.

Overall, I feel the property is slightly overpriced for the experience offered. Reception and the staff were adequate and did what was required, but the service felt below average and not particularly warm or welcoming. The property in general had a somewhat tired atmosphere, and both the furniture and rooms feel due for a refresh and upgrade. Small details would also improve the experience considerably. For example, proper coffee and a plunger are provided in the room, but there was no fresh milk in the fridge, and I would have appreciated complimentary bottled water. Breakfast was also below average. While the views are exceptional, I would probably look for another property with similar desert views on a future visit, as I do not feel Desert Breeze currently offers particularly good value for money.
