Beautiful people in a beautiful hotel

The staff were so lovely, every single one of them. Helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. The outlook onto the little beach was lovely. Seeing the fisherman bring their haul in further along the beach was so interesting. The bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed playing pool

Exclusive stay with beautiful view to the ocean and great amenities

Beautiful hotel with great pool and private ocean beach. Amazing clean room with huge bathroom and ocean view. Served food was very delicious, staff was helpfull and friendly taking care of their clients.

Relaxing week

Everything except for the few negative aspects I described but those are not so important. The room was big enough and the bathroom was oversized. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The beach is beautiful and not crowded as Unawatuna Beach. I liked the location, you can find a bus stand, and tuk-tuks are very easy.

The room and the whole property should be refurbished. It is not very important but the furniture is old everywhere. The dinner was expensive and not so many options for us. We went outside. They do not freeze the drinks therefore we don't suggest drinking cocktails there - a dry martini with icecubes is not an option for me :).

Nice hotel, in need of some TLC

Potentially lovely hotel in a great location, midway between Unawatuna and Galle. Private beach is nice, although people not resident in the hotel seemed to enjoy it too! Spacious rooms but ours came with a little damp on the walls.

The rooms, while big and spacious, are in a little in need of some TLC. The restaurant is lacking atmosphere. And while the room is advertised as a with a private pool, it's actually one long pool, shared by three rooms, separated by a fence. Lots of plastic waste on the beach.

Excellent, highly recommended

The staff were exceptionally friendly!! The location is perfect as you have your own private little beach. The food at the restaurant was reasonably priced and very delicious.

They could possibly look at replacing the pool towels.

a boutique and secluded spot for quiet days and private evenings. easy access to neighboring towns and Galle

the most attentive staff. they go out of their way to get to know you and your needs. we were a family of three celebrating my mums 70th and they put on a wonderful sea food dinner with fairy lights and guitar soloist. was so special. location is fantastic and private cove is lovely.

could do with some new towels both in the rooms and on the beach. a few more umbrellas for the sun lounges would be good as only one was available however the palm trees were good for sun protection.

Good hotel for a beach vacay

This hotel is very lovely! Some of the furniture is a little bit dated and could need some attention but everything else was very good. The breakfast was delicious :) they offered a wide range of menus! The staff was very attentive and helpful.

As mentioned the hotel could need some smaller fixes here and there.

Amazing hotel, great value for money and a very memorable experience.

The staff was really friendly. We got the half board and the food was very good, a five-course dinner meal I would say it is 100% value for money. The room was massive and the view was good. I do not have a bad thing to say about the property or the people working there. Great value for money and a very memorable experience. Note: Galle is very far from lots of the typical activities in Sri Lanka, I would recommend doing a longer visit traveling around the country and finishing off in Galle/ Unawatuna.

Small things that I didn't like. No ATM at the hotel (there is one about 2 min walk away). Bring Rupies with you. I had dollars and the hotel was happy to exchange them for rupees. There is a money exchange near the fort but it's about a 30 min wait. Food portions were too big, felt like I was wasting a lot of the food (food off the menu not the half board).

Serenity in Galle

Nestled between the chaos of Unawatuna and the city, Cocobay offers all the beauty of a coastal resort without the hustle and bustle of the more crowded beaches. A short tuk-tuk ride to the old fort makes it a perfect base for touring Galle. The staff were always attentive, happy and helpful and breakfast by the pool was a highlight. For those who imbibe the cocktails were amazing.

Great room, great food and service

The staff were excellent, so friendly and attentive. The manager was very welcoming, we had quite a few conversations with him. The food is also excellent. We highly recommend a visit to Coco Bay.

Heaven on Earth

perfect boutique hotel with a private beach if you want to feel the heaven on earth. staff was excellent, so helpful and always smiling. there is no music when you rest in the beach. so you get the best sunbathing and relaxing atmosphere. breakfast and dinner was awesome. the best we ate in all Sri Lanka. I would definitely visit again next time.

there is wear and tear in rooms. the appliances and furniture are old and not in good condition. it would be nice if they make a refurbishment especially in the bathroom. also some screens can be added on the door to keep out mosquitos.

Simply stunning hotel and restaurant

Amazing property, private beach which was clean and well maintained. Staff were excellent and friendly, all food was excellent. Suite was huge and well equipped.

Had to give credit card on checkin (physical) but paid in a virtual card so very embarrassing as it was a gift and had to get the gifted to pay for the room as had no card they would accept (even though the room was already paid for). Water pump was noisy on the first night and knocked on the wall every 30 seconds. AC unit temperature display was so bright it lit up the room at night.

I was catfished. Expected a lot more luxury for the price paid and was bitterly disappointed.

Close to beaches.

Overpriced. There was a rubbish dump on the beach... Smelly towels. No hot water. Lack of toiletries supplied.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel valued guests. Exceptional staff & service all round

Size of both the bedroom and bathroom was great and stunning views from the balcony over the beach. Facilities in the room were also excellent - everything you could need. Staff were exceptional and couldn't do enough to help. Particularly loved the personal touch of selecting which scent of handmade soap we wanted (we chose cinnamon) for the bathroom and watching them cut it from the block for us. The open style setting of the dining area looking over the pool & beach was beautiful and food excellent.

Hairdryer in the bathroom was broken but when we called down to reception they sent someone immediately with a new one so can't really fault thrm.

Very relaxing family holiday.

Beach side but away from the main road. Great booking. Only about 17 bedrooms so very boutique. Very professional staff, nothing is too much trouble.

Very good dinning. Friendly personal, one of our rooms was upgraded from standard into super-lux. Our stay was prolonged for 1 h for both rooms as we had late flight. Very good with personal swimming pool.

Location not the best-between Galle ans Unawatuna but bus is very trustable and cheap transport. Not crystal water on a hotel beach and quite strong stream sometimes. Dirty river very close to sea.

The hotel staff was amazingly considerate, like everybody in Sri Lanka. They helped us with every single request. Moreover, the hotel facilities were really nice, a decent swimming pool, a fine restaurant with different options of meat, seafood, and vegetarian meals, that you could enjoy while relaxing on a comfortable beachbed. The room was also great, with a jacuzzi and a stunning view to the ocean. The beach was idyllic and the hotel rented a surfboard, which was good for beginners to learn how to surf.

There was some trash on the beach and in the water. This is not a direct issue of the hotel, as they manage their waste quite well, but it would be better if they could improve the cleanliness on the surrounding areas.
