A warm yorkshire welcome in this comfortable pub, in a great peaceful location close to transport and walks from the doorstep. Easy parking, recently refurbished bar area with plenty of cosy corners.

The cold breakfast buffet options were limited, and some days missing. The view out of the breakfast room onto the terrace is rather sad - broken christmas lights taped to the inside of the window, a hastily abandoned and messy pizza oven setup, a range of long since dead pot plants, unswept terrace, an overflowing blanket box full of soggy blankets and untidy furniture. Not an inspiring view to start the day. There are a lot of small things in the rooms that could be easily improved - perhaps a hotel manager should stay the night in each room to feel the guest experience ?

All the female staff were very helpful and friendly.

The male manager was somewhat abrupt and unhelpful which didn't give a good impression. The breakfast buffet was a bit limited.
