Paraiso Beach Hotel

Paraiso is perfectly located close to both the public boat dock and the airport, and it has a beautiful little beach and a fantastic bar overlooking the beach. The hotel restaurant is lovely, and the food is great.

The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful but there were a couple of members who we felt were not warm and welcoming. At the end of the day the people you meet make a difference. The servers at breakfast and din er into he main restaurant buccaneers were lovely. Comfortable bed. Large room with air con. Strong coffee and pretty good breakfast.

Ordering food from Por Ahi (thr beach bar) needed foresight and took over 45 minutes to arrive. One evening we had waited for an hour and when we spoke to the lady working there she just looked at is blankly. Not impressed. We definitely got bug bites during the night. I did find gaps in the window frame from the bathroom. Also the room seemed clean but the floor felt very greasy. The floor towel in the bathroom was not changed the whole time we were there.

Yendry was exceptional staff member working the afternoon shift in the restaurant. 🙏 Yendry was so kind, helpful and very nice to talk to. We looked forward to seeing her as she was the highlight of the staff members. Give this woman a raise! The location was fantastic and really good hot water when the power wasn't out.🤷‍♀️ The quality and range of the restaurant menu was on another level. ☺️ And the included breakfast was one of the best in Central America. 🤤

Unfortunately we had to interrupt the receptionist important tiktok scrolling session to ask about tours, she always seemed highly bothered and not interested in helping at all. . The resort promotes being able to organise snorkelling and Little Corn Island tours. They weren't able to organise a simple tour over a 5 day period. We ended up organising a full boat ourselves, 8 people, all staying at Paraiso, all who asked to do tours on previous days as well. Useless front desk, only 1 who was decent. Power outage occurs at least once every 24hrs. Not the resorts fault however a ceiling light would come on when the power drops out. Not a problem during the day but at 2am in the morning for the 3rd time is worthy of noting. Obviously just bad wiring for a emergency exit light. The front bar looks highly inviting, beachfront and can take your drinks to the beach. Unfortunately the sourpuss behind the bar only smiles at locals and ignores tourists. Once you finally get your drink, if you take it to the beach you have the pleasure of being harassed by the local leeches who ask for money, drinks or anything else. They only leave you alone until you say no 7 or more times. It doesn't ruin the experience but it does bring a negative tone. Bottom line is that Little Corn is smaller however the locals seemed to have grasped the concept of basic friendly customer service and make sure the locals don't harassed equals everyone is so much happier. Skip Big Corn. Go to Little Corn. I will note that the owner was not present for any of our stay, maybe that might make a difference in everyone's behaviour.
