A relaxing and affordable skiing vacation

A quiet and cozy family-run hotel with attentive staff. We haven't had any problems with using the shared kitchen since it was empty most of the time. It takes only a few minutes by car to reach the nearest village (St. Martin), which has a couple nice restaurants. Lots of ski resorts are within 20-40 minute drive.

Very good price for this high quality of service.

Very lovely host, exceptional breakfast, simple but clean rooms. Very hot water with high pressure is available which is appreciated after a day long skiing. Many ski area is available within 10-30 minutes driving.

The bed was a bit short for my 185 cm husband and we missed the night stand lamps but this might be our problem only, we like to read while the other one is sleeping (well we bought two at the OBI on the second day, problem solved).

We loved almost everything. The room had new furniture, new bathroom and everything was super clean (also the host cleaned the room everyday). Breakfast were delicious, plenty of food and good variety. Another good thing was the shared kitchen, it really had everything there so we cooked our dinner everyday. The host was really friendly and helpful, but there was a small language barrier, as she spoke mainly German. Overall it's a really good accommodation, nothing extraordinary but for the price truly amazing and really exceeded our expectations!

The house is outside of the villages in the forest, so it was a little bit inconvenient for us as skiers (also shops and restaurants are not in a walkable distance). There's a ski bus just down the road (cca 200m) but we used the car anyway. On the other hand it was really quiet there.

Very nice owners, fantastic breakfast, quiet area (but it is important to have a car), great views, really appreciate the possibility renting a mountain bike from the owners, well-equipped common kitchen, cute terrace and garden, very good price for this service

The location is nice and not that far from skicentres. Hosts are very nice and helpful. I highly appreciate they speak very well English. Overall the accomodation is very clean and comfortable for a reasonable price, oferring you everything you need. Breakfast was good with couple of options every day. Bed is very comfortable. The kitchen which is for common use is sufficient for basic cooking.

Nothing huge, just a small things - wash-basin is not in bathroom but in the room as the bathroom is too small for that. Not a problem, just a little bit strange to go to wash your hands after using a toilet through the whole room. The kettle is the kitchen is probably the slowest I have ever seen :). Also the heating was weak but that´s usual in Austria I guess.

Amazing!

We warmly recommend staying at this place. Truly amazing place with great staff and gorgeous view of the mountains, surrounded by woods. Place is close (we had a car) to some astonishing sites of Austria.

Amazing place to stay!

The best thing about Waldhaus is the hosts, they are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is excellent, there is not much more one can expect; very traditional Austrian breakfast. The location is very nice, quiet area with access to lots of places nearby. Sankt Martin is a small town but it has a few restaurants. If you are a party animal this is not your place. The drive around to visit Hallstatt and other places is very nice. If you are in the area and get a chance to visit Waldhaus, do not miss the chance. Over all a very nice place!

Nothing to dislike about this place.
