I'll try my best to describe the village and my stay. If you want to stay somewhere close to the center but far away enough from the city noises, that's your place.
The village in itself is absolutely lovely, and well maintained. You've got tons of insects and animals going around, so you need to be comfortable with it but truly this makes this place so great. On my way to breakfast on my first day, a lizard just fell from a palm tree branch in front of me. I got acquainted with my resident gecko on my last day, but it sure made my stay lively.
I loved the simplicity of the cabins, and how cared for they were. I remember seeing some comments about geckos' poo on the floor - it's inevitable but rest assured the rooms are cleaned thoroughly everyday. The lighting in the room could be considered dark, but as I spent most of my time out and have a "never turn the big light on" rule, it was perfect. Mind you, the bathroom is outside, which means you might take a shower with a gecko.
The vibe of the village is very chill, so everyone you meet has this mindset. I think you can really experience it during the sauna nights. It was so peaceful.
I loved that the coffee/restaurant was an open room so you could just listen to nature's sounds while eating delicious food. I even had dinner a couple of times, and found the prices quite reasonable. There are several restaurants around if you feel like trying something else.
To get to the hotel or to the city, you can either walk (which I recommend because it's nice to walk along the rice paddy) or via scooter (which make it a fun experience, similar to a roller coaster in my opinion).
Finally, to top it all, I'd say the kindness of the staff really helped make my stay comfortable.

Everything was great. The hotel is a little bit outside of Ubud which is great because the Center is very crowded and sometimes overwhelming. There a lots of restaurants close by. The breakfast is really nice in the hotel. Most amazing was the staff who literally helped us with every question we had, organised drivers for us and even remembered our names from day one. The rooms are a little quiet Oase in the middle of a lot of greenery with many flowers. Three times a week there is a herbal steam sauna, which you should not miss. Yes it’s hot during the day, but it was amazing in the afternoon.
Not a problem for us, but if you are scared of nature or animals, it might not be the best place to stay. The apartments are out of wood with ornaments, so you can hear all the nature around you during the night - we really liked that!

Dragonfly Village greatly exceeded my expectations. The vibe once in the village, the bed, shower (outside view), the breakfast and the staff were all great.
The walk up from the village on the path along with motorcycles and scooters were a little annoying. But I personally would not have wanted to stay closer to the road. Dragonfly Village is very peaceful. Also the room was a little dark for my liking. Carmel the cat is friendly but a little obnoxious with the meowing.
