The place is unique, remote and quiet. The host is kind, friendly and helpful. Great hiking opportunities. The central square is also very interesting. Within easy car reach there are several religious places- interesting also for non-believers.
Francesko- the host - goes above and beyond to make people feel welcome and at home. There is a self catering kitchen and some local food served in the large living area. Francesko also offers breakfast- we haven’t tried but guests complimenting it - the price of food and drinks is very reasonable. 10-15 min uphill the famous castle ruins offer a great walk and while undergoing a huge renovation are free to access and are very interesting. Visiting in October also offers amazing colours and a great experience for foliage fanatics.

Unfortunately Lanckorona is easy to reach from Krakow but there are no services there. We could only move by taxi. A car is almost essential.
Ayur garden is a very special place- up a steep hill quite far from the village community. The bus stops at the other end. For people with even slight mobility issues Ayur garden is not easy to reach. I am sure that Francesko would have helped but we didn’t know.
Ayur garden feels like a home, the facilities remind me of a hostel. This reflects in the price - rooms are very special with spartan facilities.
The menu offered by Francesko is very limited - mostly Italian inspired- not a negative just a fact.
There is a very cosy area with an open fire. The rest of the place and the bedrooms/ communal bathrooms are quite cold.

I arrived as a solo traveler and found a very special place, almost like a small lodge somewhere in the Himalayas.
The owner is a warm, thoughtful and truly unique person. The guesthouse feels safe, clean and comfortable, surrounded by a beautiful forest and close to the ruins of an old castle that looks like a film set.
He is also a wonderful chef and the food was excellent. There is something about the quiet, the forest, the food and the atmosphere that makes this place healing for both body and soul.
I came alone and left very grateful to have found it.
