Our room was overlooking the beach and I liked they put binoculars in the room and staff were friendly. I was impressed how hard one of the kitchen guys worked. He was busy at breakfast and then I saw him shucking oysters along the front later on. Such a hard worker!

No one offered to help me take bags upstairs! And that they were inflexible with late checkout

Penny Lodge has a brilliant 70s retro vibe that we absolutely loved in a fabulous location. That being said, the bathroom was modern, the beds were exceptionally comfortable, and breakfast was included — no complaints there at all. The only downside was a noticeable musty smell when entering the property, so a little freshening up would make future stays even better.

A couple of small enhancements could make the stay even more comfortable. A light touch of air freshening would help reduce the musty smell noticed on arrival, and a more detailed clean of the windows would elevate the overall presentation of the property.

The bedroom was much too small with the bed not even a full size double bed. Ridiculous size sink in the bathroom where as soon as you put the taps on water went everywhere.
