This is a really lovely hotel - just the place for us to get some R&R after the Pamir Highway and travelling through Asia for 4 months. The room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful. The pool was a lovely escape for the heat.
The level of service needs to be improved for the price you pay. We had a strong smell of cigarette smoke in our room. Whilst the team did give us a different room, we had to call/go to the front desk to make it happen - nobody came to the room as promised. Similarly the service at the pool for food and drink was diabolical. Very little choice is available and when you do order something it will be very slow or non existent. For example, we ordered 2 sodas. We eventually received them, but no bottle opener, cup or ice, just a sealed bottle. After asking three times for a cup to drink from we ended up going to our room and getting our own! Getting service right should be something that a good hotel can easily fix. Other than this we enjoyed our stay.

Location
The WiFi network was very poor and it is impossible to upgrade and download the apps. If you need a good internet the. Serena is not a good option.
