The staff are incredibly friendly and happy to chat with you. The room was clean and cosy. There was no air conditioning though it was advertised, but the room stayed cool and dark so it wasn’t an issue.
I would strongly advise sourcing your own tour group for Tiger Leaping Gorge (and possibly other day trips). Sadly, the tour guide we were recommended by the hotel was so volatile and aggressive that he made me cry.

The hostel is impressive with its Tibetan-style interior. It made me comfortable I could communicate with the staff in English, and they kindly answered my questions about travel information, such as trekking, which was very helpful.

A lovely family run this authentic Tibetan guesthouse. It was also quite a traveler’s hub where I met some people to join up with for a hiking trip.
