Great value hostel, clean with a very friendly housekeeper who shared helpful recommendations for our time in Taiping. Right in the town centre. There are well-maintained common areas and two shared bathrooms between c5 rooms. There are steep stairs to all bedrooms, in case accessibility is a consideration.
Our room didn’t have a window, but we accepted that as it’s a traditional Peranakan-style building.

friendly helpful host/staff, vintage style, clean, free coffee, tea, chocolate. Microwave, fridge, nice cups, bowls, plates, cutleries. Books to read. Reasonably spacious common area with tables to eat/drink your own food, takeaway or delivery. Comfortable bed, hot shower, soft towel, bedside fan, light, power outlet.
All wonderfully thoughtful. Close to local food outlets, convenience store. 10 minutes walk from Taiping train station.

Sojourn Beds & Cafe is clean in term of the room and simple. For those who like to just stay for overnight and clean room this is where the best place to stay. The place is strategic location for those who want to just walk distance to nearby interesting place.
So far over all is good just that the shower room only allocated at upstairs.

Room is clean.
Location is good.
Management shall establish a house rule to prevent residents from cooking in the public living room.
The smell from the left over food in the trash bin is unbearable.
Moreover this trash bin is placed at the entrance door to the guest house.
