Reasonably priced. Needs modernising upstairs but suited our needs for the time we stayed.
Location is fantastic, as are the views. It has a driveway for 4 cars (Garage is off limits - although you can ask?). It is essentially 2 houses in one. Downstairs is modern with 2x double rooms. Each with En-suite. Kitchen/diner. WC in entrance hall. Upstairs is very much 1970s Germany. Only 1x double room and 1x bathroom. Kitchen, lounge & diner. 3rd floor (attic) has 4x single beds. Steep, low and tight stairs to access (mind your head!). Garden is massive, there are a few BBQs and a garden table + 4 chairs. We didnt use the BBQs but we were told to line them with foil if we did. Has Wi-fi but not great, unless you are in the 1st floor lounge. Modern TVs in bedrooms downstairs, not so much upstairs. There is only one in the lounge and it looks like it has satellite TV but couldn't get it to work. Has a record player!! Not an issue as we were out for most of our stay. Beds were comfy. Clean linen. Standard German 2x single double beds. We left some bits behind for the next guests (milk, tin foil, washing up liquid etc). Great sounds coming from the GP circuit over the weekend (ADAC Masters) and from the Nordschleife. The lady wasn't around but the key was left in an envelope on the door for our arrival. There is a key press next to the door for later arrivals at a guess. The lady that looks after the house doesn't speak any English. She is Polish / German. I got by with a combination of my GCSE German skills and a telephone call with her English speaking friend. She is very nice all the same!
We had to buy some toilet rolls after arrival as there was only one roll for the whole house. Not enough mugs (x2) / bowls etc. Unless you want a antique tea set or fancy decanter suite. Only one kettle. Loads of coffee makers. The bedroom on floor 1 has two windows. One has a shutter = great. The other has a net curtain = not so great. We got by with an improvised curtain using a picnic blanket to block out the light at night. The lamp shade in this bedroom is extremely low so I kept hitting my head all the time. The r/h curtain tie back at this window is lethal. Tip - unscrew it from the wall for your stay and screw back in before departure, unless you like getting bruised. Plenty of towels were supplied in the first floor bathroom but were mostly hand towels. No ironing board, it took us a while to find the iron. Improvised with a towel on the dining table. Light in upper hallway didn't work - assumed blown lamp. Didn't bother us but there is very little (i.e. zero) in terms of places to eat / drink etc in Quiddelbach. We knew this. Someone needs to drive as there are no Taxis here anymore. Adenau is 4km down the hill and the GP circuit is about the same in the opposite direction. The former has Lidl, REWE, restaurants, bars etc etc. €200 deposit (damage waiver), depending on who you book with. Cash only, the lady took it when she came around on the first available morning we were there. We got ours back no issue though. €12 each per person for cleaning (pay in cash on leaving). Seems to be the norm though. Only one key.

Needs a revamp!
Nice weather while we were there. Somewhere to sit out but 3 outdoor seats were pre-broken.
Erm. The house is on 3 floors and can be split into 2 'apartments' so what they've done is given the whole place 2 half kitchens. When a large group is in..they have to pop up and down stairs all the time to borrow stuff from the other kitchen. None of the crockery really matched which in itself is not an issue...but try to find 9 mugs for coffee. It is billed as accomodating 10 people. The two ground floor bedrooms are en suite. The other 7 beds...in 3 bedrooms share 1 bathroom. Not ideal. Some bedding was very worn. Some lights without shades...some without bulbs. If you like cobwebs and discovering old sweets under rugs then this is the perfect place for you. It needs the owner to spend a few days living there and seeing for themselves what really needs doing. Paying 12 euros per person for cleaning is laughable. The place was cobweb ridden and all light fittings had dozens of dead flies in them....a FULL days cleaning would get the house spic and span. Doubt it will happen.
