A very nice and peacefull stay

The location is very good , walking distance from the sea waterfront where all the restaurants and bars are located . The breakfast was correct , we found everything in the room and the refrigerator . We had breakfast in the terrace just out of our room, it was great ! Mrs Sue , the owner of Villa Russel is a very nice lady and help us a lot giving very interesting suggestions .

Perfect location, views and hospitality

The owner , Sue was exceptionally hospitable and had thought of everything a traveller might need and value. There are just 2 suites and you can be very private. The room is enormous with a very large bed and sofa sitting area. There is outside seating as well. The breakfast provided was delicious and thoughtful. The main area of Russell for eating out and shops is a short 5 minute walk . The drive up to the villa from the main road is very steep and could cause a problem for limited mobility but one could always drive down and leave the car at the bottom, walk into town and then drive back up if needed. The height is so worth it for the magnificent views of the bay of islands. Thoroughly recommend this lovely place.

Fantastic view and a perfect location for the town, restaurants and ferry. The room was large, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The weather during our stay was awful, but this was a great place to sit out on the covered veranda and watch the weather. Sue kindly let us use the drier when our clothes got soaked. Breakfast was lovely, and a chance to get to know Sue and Lulu the dog - this was a really great stay.

A perfect location to stay and relax with a lovely veranda and a perfect host

in a perfect location with fabulous views over the bay. Sue was wonderful about everything and it was a real pleasure to stay here and rest after our 5 weeks going around NZ.

An experience of wild weather!

Excellent breakfast, unfortunately because of the weather we were unable to eat on the verandah until our last day. Our host was lovely & most helpful.

There was nothing wrong with the accommodation , just unlucky that there was a cyclone while we were staying there, however we still enjoyed Russell & hope to return one day.

loved the views, the location was good and the friendliness of the owned made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was excellent too.

Villa Russell is a piece of paradise in Bay of Islands

old world charm and gorgeous views the owner Sue is so lovely and helpful, she spoiled us and we loved it!!

fantastic stay

very beautiful location. view is fantastic. Sue is a very friendly host. her breakfast with fresh fruits is amazing. you hear a lot of birds. the village is very cute with nice eateries and the surroundings are stunning.

shower next to the toilet. when you shower floor and toilet gets wet. we had a lot of rain and the humidity was very high: also in the room so our clothes were damped

We visted as a couple and would definitely recommend this to our friends.

We loved the location and the view. We felt connected to the centre yet distant enough to feel relaxed. Sue was a very welcoming and hospitable host with local tips and very helpful with parking and storage to meet our needs. The breakfast was lovely on the deck the first morning and inside on the second due to the weather.

Absolutely loved staying a Villa Russell. Beautiful views and perfect location. Clean, comfortable and inviting. I loved the dressing gowns. The yummy breakfast was a great end to our stay.

Extremely clean, comfortable and conveniently located, a short walk from the centre of Russell. The rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated. Sue was very welcoming, and provided a sumptuous continental breakfast on the verandah adjacent to our room. Would love to have stayed longer, and would definitely go back.

It would be appreciated for older folks to have a hand hold rail beside the toilet as we did find it hard to stand up. Also a shower curtain would be helpful so the toilet floor did not get so wet.
