Overall - excellent place to stay for a family holiday or a last stop before heading up to Cape Reinga. Couldn't imagine it being any cleaner - it literally was shining. Old-style roomy motel rooms - loved them. The shower was amazing. And loved the lawn that the sliding doors opened onto. Fabulous location, pool, by wharf for boating or fishing. Opposite cafe, 4Square, takeaways and the last stop before Cape Reinga. Also the last stop for petrol. Bus stop at the gate.
Beds were a bit firm - could do with a comfy padded topper. But they didn't dip in the middle - they were just a bit firm/bony feeling.
Plastic kettle - I will never drink tea or coffee from a plastic kettle, especially one with a full opening top that people can put all sorts of nasties into. A cheap stainless steel kettle would mean I could have enjoyed a tea and coffee there.
