BEST accommodation in Mindo

This is one of the best hotels we stayed ever. Marco is super kind, helpful and very passionate about this place and everyone that is coming there. If you go to Mindo you HAVE to stay there! The pool area is very nice, the food is delicious, it‘s even in walking distance to the city center and the cable car to do some great hikes. Marco will also support you planning your days.

Nice property but payment issues

My son reported that the property was of good comfortable standard with nice views.

I booked this stay on behalf of my son and paid on Booking.com. I later found out payment for only 1 of the 3 nights had been taken, and did not want my son to have to pay the balance. I asked the property and they said I would either have to risk sending my passport and credit card details to them, or my son would have to pay. I contacted booking.com in order resolve this. They made one attempt and did not resolve it. I made a further request which was ignored. There was nothing in the booking which suggested only part payment would be taken. I was trying to pay booking.com / the property and neither helped me. Not happy.

A perfect place to stay.

It was a perfect hotel customer service from Marcos was outstanding and the place was beautiful. An amazing location.

Exceptional

This is one of the best hotel. The room is clean, spacious with free parking. The view is great. Marco the manager is the best manager of the hotels we have ever stayed. The breakfast was excellent. The birds are everywhere. David, the owner is very helpful. Highly recommended.

A Private Paradise

The rooms are large and the large window looks out at the beautiful gardens.

lovely oasis

This place is such a lovely and peaceful oasis. You can sit on your balcony and watch hundreds(maybe even thousands) of hummingbirds flitting about. You can also see many other birds, including toucans, right from your balcony. We went birding one morning w/ a guide in the cloud forest, and while it was a neat experience, we saw way more birds right from our balcony at the hotel. The food is also really good here, which I did not find to be the case in Ecuador in general. The owner and employees are lovely and helpful, and the two friendly resident dogs are an added treat.

We really loved EVERYTHING at this place. If I wanted to be nitpicky, I would say that there was an area sort of behind the hotel that is semi-hidden, but still in view, that is filled w/ construction detritus and trash. It would be ideal if that area was more well hidden.

Extremely pleased - property is very comfortable, good food, staff especially helpful w bird guides!

Smaller, luxury property tucked away in Mindo, off the beaten path but still an easy walk to the butterfly gardens and the cable car that takes you to the waterfalls. Amazing, responsive staff - very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are modern/simple design - very clean with lush tropical gardens around each room’s private patio.

Either heat the pool or provide a hot tub near the pool. There are hot “soaking” tubs in each individual accomodation, but an outdoor option would also be nice.

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The cabin was clean, beautiful and had a wonderful view. We decided to do a couple of very early tours and they gave us a thermos with coffee the night before. So sweet.

Amazing stay

Incredible room, facilities and location. The staff were wonderful and welcoming and the breakfast on the porch in the morning in the sun with the hummingbirds and scenery was outstanding. Highly recommended and we will be staying here again and for longer!

A perfectly relaxing stay in the cloud forest paradise

We (family group of 6) stayed here for 3 nights and I wish it had been longer. The hotel was relaxing and the owner, David, was extremely helpful. Our flight into Quito was delayed and we got to the hotel very late, around 11pm. David had the chef stay in order to cook us dinner which was hugely appreciated as we were hungry and exhausted. David will arrange everything for you during your stay: tours, taxis etc. The property is gorgeous and beautifully landscaped (designed by David's sister who is truly a talent). The rooms are comfortable with gorgeous views; the online photos do not do them justice. The property is very close to town (a quick & easy taxi ride) but at the same time feels natural and secluded. I felt like it was the perfect location as town is a bit busy. There's a wonderful refreshing pool. We ate many meals at the hotel and found the food to be delicious. A final note: my son was not feeling well on the day we checked out and David kindly worked out a way for us to have a late checkout which was hugely helpful.

Nothing. One small note: two rooms are closer to reception, and there is a short flight of steps. Four rooms require climbing up a longer path & steps but you are rewarded with beautiful views. People with mobility issues should discuss their needs with the hotel.

Great place to stay

I had a wonderful stay! The nearby road is excellent for spotting a number of cool bird species and the property itself is beautiful. The meals were tasty and the staff was super super attentive and helpful in suggesting activities and even giving me rides to activities! I would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely weekend getaway!

The hotel is in a beautiful garden setting. The staff were incredibly responsive and accommodating as well as friendly. The rooms are lovely and private.

The wifi in our room was not good.

Amazing stay, awesome host, very clean. good stay

Breakfast is amazing, Sarah is awesome and gives you all the info you need about Mindo and gave us free rides back to town any time possible.

It is about a 20 min walk from town, but the taxi is $2 so it isnt that bad. Not much close.
