Amazing, healthy, a bit small

We are a family from Austria with a 4 year old child and stayed for 5 nights in „Las Terrazas de Dana“.
To our delight, we got an upgrade to a Master Suite thanks to Marco, who runs the complete hotel. Our room was impeccably clean, with a terrace and comfortable beds. In the evenings we had a few times l excellent lunch in the hotel restaurant but there also is the option to go to Mindo in 5 minutes by car. Breakfast was delicious in the restaurant with a nice view over the Mindo valley.
The Mindo area offers many opportunities for daytrips, my personal interest was much into birding. I especially wanted to see the „Plate billed mountain toucan“ and Marco helped me by calling some birding guides to find out, where I could see this emblematic bird - and I got lucky 😊
All in by all, a clear 5 stars rating from my side, we had absolutely fabulous time - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The breakfast was outstanding, with a selection of local and international dishes and no limit of how many could be ordered. Home made jam and toast was a nice bonus.
The restaurant was a pricey and it was a taxi ride away to find an alternative. I was not aware of the difference in cost at the time, having just arrived in Ecuador That said the food was excellent as was the service.,

My son reported that the property was of good comfortable standard with nice views.
I booked this stay on behalf of my son and paid on Booking.com. I later found out payment for only 1 of the 3 nights had been taken, and did not want my son to have to pay the balance. I asked the property and they said I would either have to risk sending my passport and credit card details to them, or my son would have to pay. I contacted booking.com in order resolve this. They made one attempt and did not resolve it. I made a further request which was ignored. There was nothing in the booking which suggested only part payment would be taken. I was trying to pay booking.com / the property and neither helped me. Not happy.
