Great facilities

We were on the top floor and the views from both sides were fantastic. We travelled by bus from Funchal, the bus stop was just a few minutes walk away, although there is a short but steep hill to the property. Communication with Maria was good and quick. The apartment was clean and spacious and we found the equipment we needed to make meals. Hot water was plentiful.

The apartment was very cold when we arrived and took a while to get warmed up with the available electric heater.

Spacious apartment with 2 bathrooms - one ensuite. Parking behind building. Very good wifi. Maria very helpful.

Ground floor apartment felt a bit damp but freshly painted and heating being installed so that will take dampness away. Upper floor apartment probably a lot warmer and better views. Kitchen cooking utensils could be expanded to include wooden spoon, etc.

Our bed was little. I think it's good service to leave one water bottle for the guests

We liked the views from the balcony and the short distance to the village centre. The parking at the back of the house helps a lot as well. The host is very communicative and took good care of us.

You definitely need a car to get here but thats the same with most places in Madeira

perfect for exploring the island. convenient car hire close to the house and private car parking. we loved our stay and enjoyed the balconies both east and west. the host was very helpful and it was the best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in. we’ll be back!

Constant smell of mold, moist air

Near the center of Santana, not too far from a large supermarket (Continente). The support provided by the owner, who was very flexible with our arrival time and was generally very responsive when had questions to her.

The lack of olive or cooking oil in the kitchen (which many properties at Booking have)

The appartment was huge, with three rooms, with three balconies, fully equipped kitchen, where we found everything what we needed. The communication with the owner was fast and clear.

The house is located on a very steep street, so it can be demanding to reach it if you don’t have car.

The location is good, it is close to the city centre of Sanatna, where the typical houses are and the farmers market. The rooms are big. The owner is a friendly person, who comes to clean daily, she even did the dishes, even that we didn`t ask for. We also had a welcome “Bolo de Mel” cake. And received more beds/room than asked/played for. The house is perfect for a big group of people! You can cook and sit in the sofa`s toghetter.

The smell in the house is weird, like humidity or the place had been closed for a while. Also, the bedsheets felt a bed "wet". There where workpeople outside when we stayed in the house, so maybe they will also find a solution for that. Of course, the owner of the house told us in advance that they would paint the day of our stay.

Very easy check-in, keys were in a safe box. The bed is ok, the kitchen has all essentials.

The parking place could use some improvements, in contrast to the beautiful mountains it looks very sad.

It was a nice, clean, comfortable house, good beds, Nice tv with many channels. Nice and helpful owner.

,It was quite cold in the house the day we arrived. It would be nice if they could put Dome spices, oil and vinegar in the kitchen. In fact you need a car if you want to go there of anyway if you want to go somewehere. No public transport, very steep roads.

Very spatious house with great view in a lovely and quiet town. The hostess, Maria, was very helpful and responded to our requests prompty. Central heating was a nice extra (this is less common in Portugal).

Some parts of the house have started showing their age (e.g. rusty lights on the balcony). Nothing serious, however. A more comfortable office chair would be nice for those who spend some time working remotely.

We absolutely loved our stay and host Maria is super sweet and goes out if her way to help us .. it’s a beautiful location , comfortable beds .. loved our stay and would highly recommend

Everything was great

Great apartment in quite and nice Santana. This property is huge (we had a 100m2 apartment for two people for one night, so plenty of place. View from the balcony is amazing! Bed was comfortable and overall cleanness was good. Appliances and furniture were in a great shape, so really nothing to complain about! Communication with the host was super pleasant, and also she recommended us a restaurant which was super nice (Malta Gira). Huge bonus was a washing machine! And all this is topped up with a an amazing price.
