Gasthof Schiessl is an institution that has been around for generations and knows the drill. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and nicely presented. Dinner options were limited, but there was something to suit everyone: fish, meat, and even a salad. Portions are huge. Prices for food and drinks are comparable to those in Belgium.
A bonus for bikers: the Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Trail runs through the area, a long-distance cycling route connecting Altendorf with Schönsee. We cycled from Altendorf to Schönsee. You can also stop and turn back at Oberviechtach, or cycle a few more kilometres beyond Oberviechtach, where the route winds through beautiful landscapes. Further on, the route becomes quite challenging, with some steep climbs.

Großes Zimmer im Dachgeschoss mit Balkon. Hunde willkommen. Leckeres Frühstück. Pension ist mitten im Ort. Parkplatz vor der Tür. Bequemes Bett.
Kleines Manko: relativ weiter Weg über verschiedene Treppen zum Zimmer im Dachgeschoss. Anhand der Bilder hatte ich mit einer modernen Ausstattung gerechnet, war aber noch eins der älteren Zimmer. Aber trotzdem ok.

Tolle Unterkunft für ein oder mehrere Tage. Liebevoll und praktisch modern eingerichtete Zimmer. Reichhaltiges Frühstück.

Tolles mit Herz geführtes kleines Hotel ! Persöhnlicher Flair da alles irgendwie daran erinnert man wäre zuhause ab dem Moment in dem man den Gasthof betritt.
Der Service war exzellent, am Telefon wurde so nett weiter geholfen als es darum ging ein weiteres Zimmer zu buchen. Und auch ein früher Check in und späterer Check out waren möglich. Es war alles auch super sauber und top gepflegt.
Super und wirklich erstklassig war das Frühstück.
Wir würden sofort wieder dort unter kommen.
Und haben uns herzlichst willkommen gefühlt.
