Clean and open
First day or so was fine and young staff were great. Then I became seriously ill with a bad fever/virus/infection.
The air conditioning didn’t work in the room which made suffering twice as bad as I was overheating every day and night. I asked twice for this to be fixed and eventually the filters were swooped which made zero difference.
I went to the bar to get some ice to attempt to cool down my body and was told it’s not free and to buy something. I was clearly not in any kind of state to buy alcohol or even any other kind of drink so I bought 4 bottles of water.
The next day a different barman refused to give me any ice as I didn’t need any water and sent me to reception.
Miserable old lady behind reception refused to give me some ice despite the fact that I was clearly suffering from a high temperature and sweating all over her desk. I said “It’s just ice” and she refused and I crawled back to the room.
Sames miserable old lady behind reception the next day when I left had zero empathy even though I was practically passing out on my feet as I checked out. I asked for the car park keys and she said there were people there and to go now. I calmly explained I was seriously ill and didn’t want to go to the car park and miss them. Eventually she gave me a second set of keys which was good as I had missed the family and would have been in a bad state walking back.
The customer service by the barman and receptionist was terrible. I’ve worked in hospitality my entire life and no one should be made to feel like they are an annoying old man who should hurry up and die or leave.
I didn’t use any of the facilities as I was mostly either out of the hotel or sick so I cannot comment.
I did pay for 2 evening meals and the choice was pretty good for a mass self service restaurant
