Excellent apartment near the centre of Bamberg, but be prepared for the noise.
Great location near the center of the Altstadt, so you are certainly in the middle of Bamberg life and energy. Lots of students in this city, so has a young vibe - and lots of older visitors:) Excellent refurbished apartment, well equipped and spacious; good bathroom; good bed. Bedroom windows need blinds or darker curtains.
When we arrived we wondered why there were packs of ear plugs on the bedside tables .... we found out that night: street noise from revellers (especially on weekends) is incredible. And it continues till around 1:30am. The noise was the main negative to what was otherwise a wonderful stay in lovely Bamberg. Another somewhat unsatisfactory requirement is the method of payment - only by direct bank deposit prior to the stay.

Luxury and space right downtown!
Location!
It was loud outside, but the host left earplugs. So, location was excellent, but then there is noise if you leave the windows open. Can't always have everything.

It is a very, very, VERY basic apartment not designed for family or group travel.
The property was very clean and the host responded quickly to all inquiries. The location is within walking distance to the city, but I can not recommend staying here in the summer when the windows would be open. It is a very busy street corner and it was loud even with the windows closed.
The flats are aesthetically pretty, but they are not at all warm and cozy in the least. It is a very, very basic apartment in a beautifully refurbished half-timber house, with extremely minimal furnishings. The refurbished house makes it special. Not the apartments. Not the owners. If you love architecture, it may be a great place to stay for a night. If you are celebrating with friends and/or family, there are better options. A few details: The pillows are terrible. Every person in our group woke up with neck and back pain from the pillows. I was shocked to arrive at a place of this caliber and have to make my own bed. This is what I expect from a youth hostel---not a holiday flat of this cost. In the second unit we rented, there was a living room with a small sofa, along with 3 bar stools facing a wall-mounted mini "table." For an apartment accommodating four to six people, there was nowhere to sit and eat a meal. Also, one of the bedroom doors is half-glass without any type of curtain. Those who stay in that bedroom have zero privacy. And the people from the other bedroom must walk by the exposed bedroom door simply to get to the bathroom. The owner addressed me as HERR in every single piece of communication, although I wrote FRAU on every correspondence. When we arrived, there was a yellow sticky note on the door---once again---HERR William. I guess women are not allowed to travel. ??? I wrote to ask if there would be any holiday decorations since we were visiting for Christmas. When I was told no, I asked if we could pay a little extra for this service, since we would arrive very late on the 23rd. We were told that we would have to do all of this ourselves. There seems to be no opportunity for additional support or extra service.

Good location to visit the town.
Central Location. Very clean. Dishwasher. A well equipped kitchen and the Wifi was ok. Great bathroom. To unload luggage next to the house is easy.
We missed a sitting area. There as only a small kitchen table to sit at. No direct parking. Therefore one has to look for a parking garage.

Good
Exceptional heritage building in the middle of the historic centre with spatious apartment including a sauna and retaining the old architectural elements.
Probably due to the characteristics of the building, soundproofing is practically nonexistent. The beer festival right in front felt like it’s taking place in our room. A dining table would have been useful to allow five people to sit for breakfast.
