Good place to stay in Rutherglen

We really had a very relaxed stay and would highly recommend.Breakfast was very nice .

Loved the room size.Proximity to the pool.Lovely and quiet. Lovely big deck.All staff were exceptional.

We are going to come again next year as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.We will make sure the restaurant is open next time. We enjoyed our evening in the bar and Alex was very attentive. The tapas selection is the only thing we would have changed up a bit.

Great location; would festively stay again.

Fabulous location with an easy stroll into town. Breakfast (weekends only) was excellent, and the staff were terrific.,

It was all good, though I had expected (based on the view from the street) the accomodation was in an historical building - instead it was a much more traditional unit type accommodation. It was however spacious and comfortable and a step up from a motel.,

While the rooms are large and have all you want but for the price my spa taps were disappointingly not working (informed by a note in bathroom) and the rooms are looking tired and a wee bit daggy !

Excellent home base to explore the Rutherglen region

Excellent location to explore the Rutherglen region. Walking distance into town (make sure you visit Caffeine & Machine for coffee - amazing!) and a short drive (five to 10 minutes) to surrounding wineries. Fabulous experience at the cellar door. Great service and comprehensive tastings redeemable on purchase of wine. Extensive variety of wines and other goodies to browse and purchase. We had a produce platter delivered to our room, which was a treat to enjoy overlooking the vineyard. Clean rooms and daily housekeeping. We spent two afternoons by the pool to cool off from the heat - although highly recommend upgrading the pool house area and investing in more pool lounges. There are only two lounges and 17 rooms so not enjoyable if more than two people wish to relax by the pool. Lovely service from all staff, particularly the waitress at breakfast who took care of my dietary requirements (coeliac).

One of the reasons we booked Tuileries was the gorgeous little Tuscan-inspired villas with a view of the vineyard as advertised in the photos. However, we were placed in a brick motel-style room (Room 17) adjoining the cleaners’ station with a view of the tennis court. No mention anywhere that we could have been placed in this room so the advertising is misleading and should be charged at a cheaper rate. We booked eight months in advance and there was apparently no reason as to why we were placed in the ‘spare’ room. However, when we requested to be moved, the woman at reception was very accommodating and let us move into Room 2 the following morning, which we were grateful for (although this made us think complaints are regularly received about Room 17). If you are hoping to stay in one of the Tuscan-style villas with an outlook of the vineyard, make sure you request this when booking. No where on Booking.com in the messaging or photos does it indicate you may not be placed in one of the villas so beware Room 17. The spa in both rooms was ‘out of order’ and based on other reviews, this must be the same across all rooms. These should be repaired or replaced. No smart TV in Room 17. We booked dinner at Tuileries Restaurant for New Year’s Eve. At $150 per person plus drinks, this ended up being very overpriced for what we received. Not sure if this was a NYE surcharge but it was poor value for money. One complimentary drink was included in the price. The cooked breakfast menu was only offered on weekends - not sure if this affects the price per night.

We have stayed here many times because everything is so perfect!

Location and top accommodation. Premium continental breakfast was excellent also. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bernie was especially helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely stay!

Great location, all staff were welcoming and friendly. Lovely wine tasting and dinner in restaurant was mostly great. Let down on 1 dish -wine excellent. Room was lovely and 2 couples comfortable although be mindful that second bedroom is 2 singles.

Room servicing very slow. Room not ready on arrival after 2. Had to wait. Room on second day not serviced as it was well into the afternoon so we just asked for fresh towels. The room attendants were doing their best but maybe more needed since it just didn’t happen once.

visit the cellar for a tasting, you'll find better value accomodation and food elsewhere.

nice location, promises more than it delivers. the wine tasting is fun and the staff, particularly David, knowledgable and very fun to chat with. the outlook from the units verandah is classic; vines, birds and sunshine.

the rooms are sizable but not really clean or well maintained. the soap holder in the shower fell off, there's a permament sign next to the spa saying 'out of order'. the restaurant food is poor quality - the menu promises 'roast chat potatoes' but they are deep fried, and the fish was frozen and didn't have a balanced tasting sauce. for the price, i expected a lot better.

Due to the resort not allowing EV charging to our vehicle we will not stay at this resort again

The breakfast room was terribly outdated with a lack of atmosphere, however, the staff were efficient and very friendly.

The resort does not cater for all types of travellers, in our instance we have an Electric Vehicle (EV) to which we were told quiet aggressively and categorically that we were not allowed to charge our car on the resort premises. For this reason we would not stay at this venue again!

Exceptional

We had a wonderful time staying here. The location is perfect for walking to shops and restaurants. The amenities at the resort are fabulous, tennis court, pool, areas to relax they even have their own restaurant and of course winery. The view overlooking the vineyards was beautiful. I recommend this property to anyone and hopefully get to stay again soon. It lived up to all my expectations.

There was not one thing to complain about.

Great Stay at De Bortoli

The hotel, grounds, rooms and staff are excellent. I always love a hotel that provides quality individual bathroom amenities - I usually score a few extra to take home and I get reminded of the place when I use these again later on. The restaurant is high-end and we enjoyed a superb meal there. Stay 3 or more nights and get a free bottle of wine to take home - bonus! The in room tea/coffees are all top-brand stuff.

I would have loved to know how to call the room next door. We had an old couple in the room next to us (think needing hearing aids) who decided to watch The Masters Golf tournament live broadcast from 2am to 7am keeping us awake. Fortunately that was only for one night. I love my morning coffee, while they do offer one barista-made coffee per person, the breakfast buffet is missing an automatic coffee machine (I came across one in a recent stay that puts most baristas to shame!).

The room was lovely and so was the venue

- the jets in our spa weren’t working so we couldn’t utilise the spa - I had to park my car a distance away from our room as the parks nearby were all taken - we weren’t aware that there would be an additional fee for a cooked breakfast, but in saying that, $10 per person was very reasonable

Convenient and comfortable.

We had a convenient overnight stop here on the way to Canberra from Geelong. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

I think it is obvious that staffing is an issue here as it is everywhere at the moment. The bar staff were not trained and the food in the restaurant was average for the price. I might stay here again but I wouldn't eat here.
