We stayed at Canopus for one week and had a wonderful experience. We met Barbara and Giovanni, the owners of the property, and they were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. They gave us great suggestions throughout our stay, which made our experience even better.
The view from our room was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Waking up to the sound of the wind in the trees and the ocean waves was something else. Our room was always clean, and it was cleaned every day. They also made sure we always had enough drinking water, which was a really nice touch.
We also tried the food, and if you decide to eat here, I definitely recommend the fried chicken burger and the brownie for dessert ,both were delicious and surprisingly light. The grilled fish was also excellent!
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back. Highly recommended!

Giovanni and the staff were as hospitable, friendly and helpful as they come. Location couldn’t be better - right in front of Cokes with
Views of both Cokes and Chickens from the rooms. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable.
Minor details such as too many bright lightbulbs - need more ambient and soft/warm lighting in both the room and bathroom. Showerheads need more regular decalcifying to keep the flow straight and strong.

The location was great, the beach and the outside seating for the restaurant to have any meal sitting right on the beach but there was also shade. The rooms are spacious and welcoming and the staff is very helpful

Location right on the beach. Staff very friendly and eager to please.Sea view room clean with housekeeping attentive. Staff happy to arrange excursions and private taxi back to airport.
Ranga (spelling) who runs reception is outstanding 10 out of 10 but is sadly let down by the owners.
Booked 2 non sea facing rooms, they have no outside windows. 1 room has a window of the Internal courtyard with views of cleaning materials and rubbish bins. Only 1 room had a safe. They had a very stale smell. After 16hours travel we tried to sleep but there is a unit on the outside of the wall that clicks on and of every 30 seconds. Sleep is not possible. I informed reception we will cancel our bookings and leave the next day. They did move us to a Seaview room. But we gave up 2 rooms for 1 and all 3 people had to share.
There are more than 15 cats that live in the restaurant and reception. The stink is unbelievable. The cats spray inside the hotel. They also all defecate on the beach where you eat, lay on the sundowners and walk. We personally saw this many times.
The building noise goes from 7am to 8pm. Most of the time we sat at other beaches so no advantage paying for this hotel. The staff are great but I am sorry I can not recommend it while the cat issue and building noise exists.
I notice the owner accepts positive comments but denies the negative o es. Nothing I have written is untrue. Buyer beware.
