The situation is beautiful. A very comfortable but grand house. Like a mini Downton Abbey.
Our bedroom did not have a door to the ensuite bathroom which we found quite strange!
If we came again we would ask not to be put in that room again .

Breakfast excellent, staff friendly and helpful, welcome with tea unexpected surprise, beds very comfortable. All in all a good stay at a reasonable price.
An evening meal would have been good but plenty of good eateries nearby.

Outstanding place you are made to feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door the owner Christine made us a cup of tea as soon as we walked in, she goes above and beyond to look after you the room was both modern and it also took you back in time. Breakfast was good with a good selection and another good thing is you can a time slot and she takes your order the night before, will defiantly return.

Everything! Christine was a charming hostess who did everything possible to make you feel welcome at her home. The individual rooms were charming, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was amazing with individual orders wonderfully catered for and additional extras such as bowls of fruit and special jams.
There was so much character to the house and a very personal touch to our visit.
A reservation for dinner at an Italian restaurant nearby was kindly made by Christine and we enjoyed a very good meal.
We enjoyed everything. Don't stay here though if you are used to standard hotel rooms etc! This is different and much better for it - in our view!

Quite simply my favourite place to stay.
Many hotels claim to make you feel at home: this one really does. The host is an absolute delight; the house and grounds are secluded and magical; and how many places let you walk and play with their dogs?
This was not my first visit and it certainly won’t be the last.

Exceptional Customer service, Philip, the Manager is an outstanding individual and professional. We had a superb time.
More gardeners to rejuvinate the gardens around the property. Investment to renovate and upgrade the main house.

Such a comfortable bed, and great breakfast, plus very friendly dogs. Lovely welcome with a cup of tea and the fire was put on for us. Really enjoyed, will go back again.
the signage to turn into the property is very low down and small so not easy to see, although sat nav took us to the right location.

Great location but still private and secluded. The rooms are massive and the entire property is steeped in history. The personal service from Phil was outstanding. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Quiet location, comfortable bed, good breakfast.
Difficult to find with no signage and from the bottom of the lane we thought we had turned up at the wrong property.

Made very welcome. Welcome tea made for us in the lounge.
Very spacious room, nicely furnished. Excellent bathroom.
Excellent breakfast. Lovely grounds

Beautiful property, period features and so many antiques. Every room was very impressive. Most comfortable bed ever experienced in a hotel. The grounds were well maintained and ideal for my dog, Peggy.
The welcome we received from our host Phil including a tray of tea, a chat about our needs, he was genuinely interested in us as guests, we immediately relaxed in such beautiful surroundings. Phil also cooked a breakfast to die for…at a time convenient to us. Would recommend this hotel to friends & family. Thank you Phil.
Entrance was confusing, it was at the back of building, possibly signage to advise where reception was located would ensure clarification.

Hardly dare say this but this place is truly peaceful, tranquil and amazing. You can relax as soon as you get here with the personal greeting, cup of very fresh tasting tea in sweet old china, with lots of flavour and just the whole place is very pleasing. We have stayed here before and could not wait to come again. It is a lovely grand old building with very tastefully furnished rooms. The huge bath is divine to aching bones after hard drives in our Carver Ones. :) All the food is locally sourced from their own gardens and animals and you just cant get fresher foods than these. Fresh strawberries. Own made on site jam not some mass produced stuff with their name on it, this is the real thing. You could be the new king staying here. The bed is exceptionally comfy so you dont want to get out of it. Clean crisp white sheets and pillows that negate the need to bring your own. Its lovely and we will be coming back here again.
The bedroom door sometimes would not open as the catch stayed where it was on the very old great door and old door handle just like it did last stay. As we had nothing of great value except ourselves I was leaving my door slightly open but hubby decided to close it. We nearly had to phone for help like last time but then we magically got the door open. It was an adventure and it wouldnt put me off coming here. Wish they did dinner but i dont know if they would be as relaxed doing that. The owners here made us bookings at the local Italian and we already knew it was good. The prices everywhere in this area are very very reasonable. We had a lovely meal. I was very sorry that we only had one night to spare here on our car rally. I would love to stay longer next time.

Large beautiful mansion with countryside surroundings. Staff couldnt do enough for you. Everything thought of for an enjoyable stay. Great breakfast. Large spacious room and ensuite. Great place for a romantic getaway with log fires and cosy lounge, Great place to hold a wedding or health retreat as lots of other buildings attached to property.
For all its grandeur dogs are welcome. We had a ball.

Everything! Hospitality was fantastic, Phil could not have been more helpful, he was extremely thoughtful and very informative on the local area and the farm. We had tea/biscuits and a roaring log fire in the lounge on arrival and we also able to bring our elderly parents in for afternoon tea on one of the days of our stay. The bedroom was amazing, huge comfortable bed and the biggest bathroom we have ever seen with a huge bath and rainfall shower. The biomass fired heating system ensured a very cosy room and lots of hot water. Breakfast was also excellent. Fresh fruits, yoghurt and cereals, fruit juice and coffee and also a full English breakfast or variation of and toast with jam/marmalades. Everything was cooked beautifully and the sausages were locally sourced. It was all delicious. We chose this venue as it was dog friendly and close to my parents and given the wonderful experience and excellent value for money we certainly plan to return.
