Terrible experience

Toning considering our experience

Property: very little greenery around (mostly concrete and stone; the walk to the beach is downhill/uphill and crossing a fairly busy street; long walk to the town (shops and restaurants); two very small pools; no water toys or sun loungers and umbrellas to rent for the beach; sea-view apartments have very partial view; We booked a sea-view apartment for 6 people for 5 nights, with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. Upon arrival, we discovered that the sofa bed in our apartment was broken and could not be converted into a bed. When we reported the issue to the property manager, he told us that the sofa bed had been damaged by previous guests, so a small portable folding bed had been placed as an addition in our apartment. We were not informed at all about that prior to our arrival (otherwise, we would have cancelled the booking). We didn’t agree to that sleeping arrangement and asked to be accommodated in the unit the manager had shown us earlier and to which we had agreed to move. The owner refused to let us have that unit, even though it was vacant, claiming it was already booked. We proposed that we could stay in that apartment until the broken sofa in ours was replaced and then move back, or the owner could accommodate other guests in our apartment (after swapping out the broken sofa). The owner didn’t agree. He instructed the manager to show us 2 other apartments, significantly smaller (listed on the website as for 5 people), dark, and stuffy, with couch in living room and a view of the parking lot. These had lower standard than our original booking. Throughout this situation, the property manager remained on the phone with the owner, who was not on-site. At one point, I was handed the phone to speak with the owner, but he was extremely rude and aggressive, so we decided that the property and the owner like that weren’t where we wanted to spend our vacation, so we left. We immediately reported the matter to Booking.

we loved it so much we extended our stay

everything! we were meant to stay for 3 nights but extended it to 9 we loved it so much. apartment was cool and spacious with everything we needed and more. lovely big terrace. 2 little pools the kids loved. little wild beach just across the road which became our favourite. short, 10 minute walk into town for restaurants, shops etc. free parking on the property. very easy communication with the host and even with the lovely housekeeper who spoke no English and us no Croatian. it was everything we wanted in for a peaceful family holiday.

közel a part, a kilátás gyönyörű.
