The wellness area with saunas and an infinity pool overlooking the Alps is worth the trip. Plus the massage was good and the rose scrub outstanding. The staff are so nice and helpful too. The rooms are ok, nothing special but you don’t want to spend your time there anyway. The perfect place for a weekend getaway to spoil yourself.
The food was ok. It lacked flavor, but there is definitely a nice breakfast spread. Also the pillows could have been more comfortable, they were too stiff.

The spa is modern and clean, however, quite small. The freshly baked bread for breakfast was fantastic. A bonus card ("Genusskarte") for free access to various attractions in Styria was included in the price.
We stayed here for three nights and were very disappointed as the hotel didn't meet our expectations at all. Really poor value for money! The hotel is described as "a 4-star wellness hotel set in a quiet location amidst the Almenland Nature Park offering a spa area, and panoramic views of the scenic landscape. Free parking and free WiFi are available". They are using shiny pictures of modern new rooms and beautiful landscape.
But what you get is a rural, fairly old hotel situated on the main road of a tiny village with a small modern extension to the main building where the new rooms are located (and all picture references for booking.com are taken). The interior of the main building is old school and uncharming. The rooms are clean but again very old school with old fashioned furniture. The quality of the mattress, linen and towels was poor (partly with holes). The beds were very uncomfortable. The sound insulation was poor, you can hear your neighbours and as we were facing the backyard where the kitchen is located it was noisy until midnight as staff were cleaning dishes, sorting cutlery etc. There is no WiFi in the rooms and only bad reception in the communal areas on the ground floor around the bar/restaurant. The garden is tiny with a play area for kids and again facing the main road so no space to relax and unwind. While we were there we had a building site across the road so it was super noisy during the day. Breakfast was good, but very meaty and the choice of fruit was poor.
Overall we were very disappointed as we felt the hotel was trying to lure people with the few modern rooms / facilities they have on offer but when you're there it's a completely different experience. We faced the reception staff with our findings and they blushed and only stumbled as if they knew what they were doing with guests.
