Magique. Comme à la maison

Tout est absolument parfait. L’accueil, la chambre, la terrasse, la vue, les chats, Celso et Gloria qui ont fait de ce petit paradis un éden. Gloria est très gentille, agréable et àune mine d’informations et de conseils à donner. Sans compter les petites attentions quotidiennes dans la chambre. Vraiment l’endroit est sublime. Isolé un peu à la campagne et à 7 min du centre de Silves en voiture, c’est un endroit idyllique pour se ressourcer et profiter de l’Algarve. La piscine de l’établissement est magnifique. De plus, elle est au sel et non chlorée. Dans la chambre il y des jeux de plage disponibles ainsi que 2 serviettes de plage.Chaque détail est pensé intelligemment. La terrasse promet de longues à profiter du coucher ou du lever de soleil. On y trouve 2 machines à café (nespresso et filtre) ainsi qu’une cuisine d’extérieur. On se sent comme à la maison. Gloria nous a gentiment offert une bouteille de vin de la région ainsi qu’une marmelade. Délicieux 😋. Elle propose un service de brunch que nous n’avons malheureusement pas testé car notre séjour était court mais au vu de la préparation cela avait l’air divin. Si vous désirez couper de la ville et profiter de l’ambiance campagne alors c’est ici qu’il faut séjourner. Attention aux oreilles sensibles : la campagne a de nombreux chiens et chats. Donc la nuit ils aboient. Gloria n’est en rien responsable de cela. Mais pour ma part cela fait partie du charme de la campagne portugaise. Les chats viennent vous rendre visite et peuvent même s’introduire dans la chambre ☺️. Mais si c’est à refaire je reviendrais certainement chez Gloria.

An absolute hidden gem - we loved it!

We loved it! This place is a gem - and my boyfriend and I had an amazing time at the Gato Preto de Silves. We would love to come back anytime. The staff is really nice, the vibe is relaxing, it's private and just an all in all an absolute hidden gem!

Everything was amazing - we look forward to coming back some day!

If you want to come back to peace and quiet after a day exploring the Algarve, then this is it.

The location is fantastic, set high on a hill overlooking the valley you get a sense of being in the country, but you are only a 5 minute drive to Silves and about 25 minutes to the Algarve coast. The property is set in beautiful gardens with each of the four accommodation units set apart so you get a sense of being on your own. Silves is centrally located which is great to explore all of the sites that the Algarve has to offer. Gloria was a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble and she made great breakfasts with freshly squeezed local oranges.

the stay was lovely, great place, staff and food. the breakfast is exquisite. perfect if you want to relax and get away

it was quiet and in the middle of the nature, the vibe was great!

the fact that I specifically asked for a double bed for which the answer was yes and then got two twin beds.

A piece of paradise!

An absolute gem of a place set up in the hills and beautifully run by hosts Matteo and Gloria! The pool area and gardens were immaculate and well landscaped, the accommodation private and well thought out and the breakfasts were just divine!

Would definitely go back, and stay there - a little oasis.

Started the day looking at the sunrise from a quiet spot under some trees. Great cooked breakfast, served on patio. Tasty evening means prepared on the premises meant we didn't have to go anywhere! Layout of the guest-rooms and access very clever, allowing for privacy, or places to simply take in the view of surrounding landscape.

Wifi was a little dodgy sometimes, that could be boosted. Efficient working space in (our) accommodation missing - have been told other rooms are better equipped.

Amazing escape from everyday life.

Very comfortable, relaxing spot, nearby beautiful Silves. Everything was just great there, welcoming host, delicious breakfasts, and chillout corner just by our room. We would love to go back and we definitely will!

Staying 6 nights we would have liked the sheets changed and the bedroom swept. The outside kitchen was really good. It did need fresh cleaning cloths.

Absolutely amazing!!

Everything was absolutely wonderful! First of all, the accommodation is amazing! We've got this nice view out of our cabin where we could watch the sunrise every morning. The cabin was very private and complete. We had our own kitchen, which contained everything we needed. There were candles on the porch, there were blankets to use when it got a little bit chilly, there was a hammock, there were nice chairs and a couch outside to enjoy the wonderful view. The garden was filled with the most wonderful plants, which made you feel like you were in paradise. They have there own kitchen garden, they compost their organic waste and there are some pretty sweet cats. And last but not least, Matteo and Gloria were amazing! Very kind people, nice to talk to, but they also respect your privacy very well. They were pretty helpful. If there was anything we needed, they came by immediately to help. They also gave us great tips for nice restaurants or places to go. Every morning they made a delicious breakfast with locally grown stuff. And they offer very nice tours to really show you the rural Algarve, the hidden gems, the places that are not touristic. We will definitely come back!

Highly recommended

An amazing bed and breakfast with spectacular views. We really enjoyed this relaxed ambiance. Very nice and welcoming owner, delicious breakfast with beautiful products from the Algarve. Great vibes and total relaxation around this location! Also a good spot to drive around through the Algarve and Silves itself is a beautiful town.

Truly nothing to complain. Would recommend this to everyone.

Very good

We stayed in the Garden Studio 'Alma do barrocal'. We had a small kitchen, nice & good bed, clean bathroom + we had a nice terrace with table+chairs, cosy corner and a hammock. Nice view on the mountains and the area. If you like a quiet, peaceful stay (away from the tourist area) this is the place to go. Swimmingpool was clean and good beds to chill + enjoy the view!

Breakfast was basic but ok.

Worth visiting? A definite yes!

Centrally located - 20 minutes drive to the beaches on the south coast and about an hour drive to the west coast. The rooms are cosy and adequately equipped. Beach towels and an umbrella were also provided. Lovely pool area and gardens to relax at if you just want to chill. Gloria and Matheus are lovely hosts who are always available to answer questions or to give tips. They hosted a dinner evening for their guests where they served dishes that are typical of the Algarve - good food - worth trying 😊

There was nothing to complain about. The rooms are cleaned once a day, however it would be handy to have a small broom and dustpan on hand .

Lovely relaxing stay surrounded by nature

We are still a little bit sad we had to leave. This Place is really lovely, relaxed and immersed in beautiful nature. The owners are lovely, down to earth people who bring a warm feeling to the place, making you feel immediately relaxed, welcome and at home. The room has everything you need and the outside space is a really lovely area to relax with a book, or eat with a view over the countryside. The inside and outside spaces feature lots of little personal touches that make it feel unique. The breakfast right near the room was substantial and delicious every day, and again with a lovely view of the trees in the garden and pool area. We enjoyed our daily breakfast chats over fruit, eggs and tea :) there are only a few rooms so you often have the lovely pool area to yourself, but still get to see a few people around. You will enjoy swimming with a view of lemon and olive trees with the breeze floating over you. It’s best to have a car as you are out of town in the countryside, though not far to the local town of silves which is a quaint and historic place to visit and go for evening strolls and dinners. You can also easily get a short taxi ride if you don’t want to drive every time. The beaches Of the algarve are all fairly close by, so you can see a lot from here and still enjoy some pool time. Even to visit the west coast beaches is not far at all, maybe around an hour depending how far up you want to go. We would 100% recommend to stay at gato Preto de Silves and Hope to return soon to experience the new winter cabin :) thank you for a wonderful stay.

Private and peaceful

We were looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway, and this was perfect as our base to explore the Algarve. Our cabin had a lovely view and was very private, and we like that the b&b has just a handful of rooms and so there was little interaction with other guests - perfect during Covid times! Our hosts were also very accommodating with breakfast arrangements as we had early starts. I would love to stay here agaIn if I’m ever in the Algarve.

Homey feeling

Staff was very friendly, the room was well equipped and maintained. Room cleaned every day, and we felt safe. Breakfast was served on our balcony (due to Covid), always on time and with good quality products.

Inside Gato Preto Silves wall’s, all is lovely and well maintained, unfortunately can’t say the same about the surroundings of the property that are a big contrast. (nothing that Gato Preto SIlves owners can do about this).

Exceptional

We had a nice stay at Gato Preto. Gloria and Mateus are nice people who are happy to help you and provide you with tips. Gato Preto is situated in a quiet location. Ideal for couples. Nice pool where you could relax after a day exploring the region. It looks exactly like on the pictures. Breakfast is very tasty and your wishes will be taken into account in case of intolerances.

There was nothing really disappointing. Gato Preto is located a bit remote so you need a car anyway if you want to have something to eat or explore the region. For us that was no problem.
