Great location when visiting Palau, with nearby supermarkets and free parking. 10 min walk to the port. Friendly staff and a decent breakfast is available.

Overall, I am very happy about my stay at Palau City Hotel. I had seen some pretty bad reviews, but was pleasantly surprised to find the place much better than imagined. Apparently, there are new owners who have done some great work for the place and plan on doing more. The bathrooms (especially showers), for example, must have had a great upgrade, because they were quite nice, nothing like what I saw on a picture on Booking or TripAdvisor. The rooms are small, but that was expected, and suited us fine since we spent most of our days outside anyways. The staff are extremely friendly and willing to go out of their way for their guests. The breakfast was also good - basic but good. The location may not look like it is the best on a map, but it is actually very close to the center in this already small town, so great value for money staying here!
The floors could be cleaned better, at least inside the rooms. We quickly decided to wear shoes inside, though, and found that it was quite fine that way.
