Hostal Bambu

As someone who has stayed at this hostel literally 100 times, I can attest to you this is a wonderful location. I have a farm 1 hour outside of San agustin and I have had to stay in town on many occasions. Bambú has always been my choice for many reasons. For one it is quite affordable for the quality of the hostel. It's conveniently located very close to the center of town. The view from the third floor terrace is a spectacular glance of the beautiful town of San Agustín from above. The hostal sits atop an avenue that is lined with delicious restaurants. I highly recommend Santo Gorilla for vegetarian food and El Faro for pizza, both are seconds away in walking time from the Hostal. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful with organizing day excursions. The receptionist Stefani, is very nice and always has good recommendations and can answer any questions you may have. She speaks English, which is a big help to many traveling foreigners. I highly recommend it for a peaceful night's rest and a great opportunity to meet many traveling foreigners, the vast majority of which speak English.

Room was spacious, no bunk beds, very clean hostal good kitchen

the reception lady was sometimes a little unwelcoming, she got very annoyed when the kitchen was little dirty after cooking and also tried to find someone to blame (although it was one of the cleanest kitchens during my travels and it was just normal dirt accumulating when people cook)...

There is a very nice view of San Agustin from the terrace for sunrise and sunset. The vibe is very chill in the hostel with good kitchen for cooking or you can order a nice breakfast. Good place to chill for a few weeks if you have been traveling for a while and need a break from city stimulation.

Had a great stay. Great restaurants nearby and amazing staff that helped answer all of my traveling questions and assist transportation. Highly recommend.
