Like others, I really enjoyed seeing and staying with a Taiwanese family. Their kid is gifted in English and stands as interpreter for mom — and dad if he stumbles. I got to see kind deeds by all three, along with the strong roles they play.
The night market is a relatively easy walk and the battered beach as well. It’s a chill place even if neither place appeals to you.
It’s about two miles to the train station if you’re traveling that way. Regardless it just $160 Taiwan dollars ($5 US) for a taxi ride.

This place is truly a gem. I could not fathom going anywhere else in Hualien. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the location is great. You should truly come here to relax and enjoy the calm of Hualien.
To be honest, I do not find anything that I did not like.
