About this house rental
Situated in Buena Vista, this charming house for $163 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. This house has been continually remodeled throughout the last 7 years to accentuate the century old style with modern amenities. Here the owner cleans and still irons sheets and steam cleans rugs every time a guest with a dog leaves. This house received a certificate for Covid appropriate cleaning and sanitizing from the town of Buena Vista. The house sleeps 4-6 guests, 1 KING bed with new pillow top mattress and large desk with highspeed internet/WIFI, 1 queen bed in the second bedroom with vanity and one queen pull out couch with extra memory foam mattress in living room, wall mounted electric fireplace, hardwood floors throughout, 10 ft. ceilings, full bath with slate floor, large mudroom. Large fridge/freezer with ice-maker, Range/stove, washer and dryer. 50 inch HDTV, DVD/CD player Stereo Receiver. Pet-friendly, fenced-in front and back yard. (pet fee $60/stay) Dogs can be kept in mudroom when you are away. Step through French doors to our large deck with wicker chairs/passive solar lights under shade sails or BBQ your favorite dish. A special treat is our outdoor infrared Sauna for 2-3 people. The property has 2 off-street parking places, one long enough for trailer or RV w/ water/sewage and electric hookups. Storage shed can be used for smaller sport gear like kayaks, skis, snowboards, bikes etc. Our house is one block from Main Street directly on the Bike route (bike rental 1 block) but away from traffic and noise. Enjoy the quietness of watching birds and the deer coming by for a visit. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes for 6 guests. This home is over 100 years old with many original features like the front doors, original iron fence, water pump, vintage stove, unique bath vanity, vintage lamps and partially displaced brick walls for a homey feel. Mt. Princeton Hot Springs approx 15 min away and Cottonwood Hot Springs about 10min. For our Ski enthusiasts, 30 min to Ski Monarch and 40 min to Ski Cooper. "My Colorado Cottage".

Cozy and comfortable!
This house was a wonderful place for a getaway. It was quiet despite being conveniently located in town, steps from coffee shops and restaurants and an easy walk to hiking trails along the Arkansas River. The house is impeccably cared for and a lovely place to stay.

Wonderful Stay
What a great property to just relax and enjoy your vacation. Everything was clean and very welcoming. It was very convenient to walk downtown to Buena Vista, or to access the Arkansas River. My wife and I are sure to visit again in the near future.

Comfy Cottage in Buena Vista
This is our second time staying at the cottage. For us, it's perfect. It's easy walking distance to the historic downtown area with the restaurants and shops. It's also close enough to walk to the river for the Farmers Market and music entertainment. The location in Buena Vista is also great if you are looking for a home base to take advantage of the hiking in the area.
The cottage is super clean and very comfortable. We definitely took advantage of the kitchen to make some of our meals. The cottage also has a washer and dryer which comes in handy when you are staying for a few days or longer. Astrid is also a wonderful host!

The two of us and our dog had a wonderful stay in this well maintained, well equipped house. In addition to the comfortable interior, the property benefits from a nice outdoor deck with a sun shade, which we used daily, and the convenience of being just a block or two from restaurants and stores. We plan on returning.

Perfect in every regard
When reserving a cottage for a month having only seen photos on VRBO, one could be a bit apprehensive. Boy - we were absolutely blown away with this Colorado Cottage! Astrid has thought of every detail - we felt ‘right at home’. The deck was heavenly for having morning coffee, watching the birds visiting the feeders, grilling dinner, and stargazing the evening mountain sky. The kitchen had everything we could possibly think of. Bedrooms were nicely appointed, and the living room, with tv/dvr, etc., would meet anyone’s needs. The cottage is conveniently located near just about everything you could need in BV. We didn’ want to leave when our month was up. Can’t wait to return!

Perfect, cozy, beautiful property at a great location
There are so many good things to say about this property and the owner. First, the house has a very convenient location, close to restaurants, cafés, and stores. Pretty much everything is within a walking distance. Second, the house is just so well-maintained, beautiful and clean, it makes you feel immediately at home. I had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful house for a month with my wife, baby and two dogs and we truly enjoyed our stay. This property provides you with everything you need to be very comfortable and it is so cozy you won't want to live. On the other hand, Astrid, the owner, is great! She is flexible, understandable and caring of their guests while being very respectful of your own space. One thing my wife enjoyed was the birds that visit the property on a daily basis, especially if you provide them with food, which is available in the house upon request. The patio is simply breathtaking! It is beautiful and peaceful! We could not have had a better overall experience while staying on her property. Because of that, we highly recommend this house to anybody looking for lodging options in Buena Vista. I am sure you are going to love it just like we did! Satisfaction guaranteed! Perfect, cozy cottage!
This place is magical! The house is so beautiful, well-maintained and well-supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The patio, the rooms, the kitchen and living room are very nicely-decorated. The house is cozy and bright and has a strategic location very close to restaurants and stores. Finally, I must say the owner, Astrid, is simply great! Very kind, approachable and flexible. She is always available when you need it or have a question about the house or the town yet respectful of your privacy. My favorite part of my stay was the sauna and the patio! I had a wonderful stay so I highly recommend this property to anyone who is planning to spend a few days in Buena Vista, which, by the way, is a pretty beautiful town!

Great fall weekend-House had everything that we needed
We were in Buena Vista for a mountain biking weekend. The house is was perfect for our family of four. Beds are comfy, the kitchen had everything that we needed and the house was very clean. We enjoyed reading our books on the porch, dinner at Eddyline Pub and Brewery and a walk along the river the first evening. The second evening we cooked and had everything that we needed for dinner.

What a nice place in the heart of Buena Vista!
We had a lovely place at this property in Buena Vista. We really appreciate the care that has gone into designing the outdoor space. It is fully fenced in which allowed us several evenings of drinking wine outside with our dogs. You can see Mt Princeton in the distance and the stars and moon look amazing at 8000 feet. You can even see the Milky Way.
The house inside is great, too. Definitely a unique interior with lots of charm and interesting detailing. The king bed was welcome. And the second bedroom has a wonderful view out the front window.
And location! We could walk to downtown in 3 mins but were still far enough away to not be disturbed by any noise (BV is a pretty quiet town). The Deerhammer distillery is highly recommends as well as the Viking food truck (when in season). You can also easily walk down to the river.
Overall we had a wonderful time and will be returning in the future.

Cozy and inviting
From the welcoming sign on the door to the basket of goodies waiting for us, to the amazingly comfy bed, everything was perfect. It was the best of both worlds, being at home and on vacation at the same time! The house is right around the corner from Main Street where there are several really cute shops and yummy restaurants. I would stay here again and again!

Cozy Home
WE loved staying here- great location with modern amenities in a historic home. The outside sitting area was as lovely as the inside furnishings. Birds visited us often, and the night lighting was so appealing, we played cards outside. The rooms are small, as historic rooms are, but really nicely done. The kitchen was well-stocked, too. I hope to go back!

Cool and comfortable piece of history!
What a great place! First the location is outstanding. Can't get better than it. We didn't touch our car once we settled in. Walked to great restaurant/shops/coffee. Comfy bed and great set up for relaxing in front of a movie, coffee in the morning and chatting on the deck. And the deck is wonderful! A great place to spend the day. The house feels like (and is!) a unique piece of history with all kinds of neat features inside and out. We'll be back!

Beautiful home, great location
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home - very comfortable and welcoming. The location is perfect, walking distance to the downtown area with all the restaurants and shops. Also walking distance to the river walk and convenient access to lots of great hiking trails. Having the washer and dryer was a great perk for a week-long stay. Astrid was also excellent in communicating that we were able to arrive early and check out later than expected.
