A great experience

What a nice staff and what a lovely place to stay for two nights. At first I had a room at streetside. For my husband it was not a problem at all but I had a headache and they switched me to a (more) quiet room. We eat fish and chips at the restaurant and everything was more than we expected!

Superb

Characterful property tastefully refurbished. Free car park at rear. Excellent location. Very good range of Hook Norton beers. Excellent evening menu. Delicious breakfast. Very welcoming staff provided a high level of customer service. Definitely worth a return visit!

The room was lovely but the double bed ideally could have been larger, but was OK for a one night stay.

Great accommodation and staff. Breakfast too late if you're staying for work.

Staff all friendly and professional. Excellent breakfast, although rushed due to late times.

Coffee perculator had used coffee still in it, so had to wash it out before use. Breakfast is too late if you're working. 7.30am order and 8.05am served, when I need to be leaving by, so always rushed. I've been a regular business visitor and will look elsewhere until the breakfast time is a 7.00am start. Also miss the complimentary brandy, which was a nice touch with the other items offered,

The room was very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming.

top notch pub stay better than many hotels. great food and lovely staff.

staff were great. food was great. location great. we stayed off season and for 95 gbp this was exceptional. loads of nice touches and very helpful staff. I’ve stayed in many hotels at double the price that were not as nice.

Excellent base for a couple of nights stay in the north Cotswolds.

All good. Staff are friendly and helpful. The Fox is an old building with well converted bedrooms that are clean and warm. Excellent choice of breakfast included in the overnight rate. The restaurant food was very good. Overall a really good place to stay.

friendly staff, lovely room with a few nice complimentary touches - free water, bottle of beer, brandy, cake along with the usual tea and coffee facilities. Great breakfast included too!

We had a great welcome and enjoyed our evening meal on arrival - as a Hook Norton pub, the beer was well kept and the highest standard! Great location for visiting the area and, in our case, attending a wedding nearby.

Perfect ambience. We’d just arrived in the UK and headed straight to chipping Norton. The restaurant was great. Staff was very friendly w excellent service. The room had old Atmosphere But had recently been nicely remodeled. The fox is in the heart of the town of Chipping Norton. Plenty of sites to see and restaurants within walking distance. We loved it. Nice Cotswolds Experience with out the crowds.

Very nice pub, located right on the square in Chipping Norton (and with its own car park, though the list of facilities suggested otherwise). My room was smallish but very comfortable - and complimentary brandy as well as bottled water really is a first!

Good food in the restaurant but it felt distinctly under-staffed.

awful would not recommend to anyone. had to go out every evening for dinner.

nothing not inviting when arriving at the car park.

bedroom clean but very small. food not good. breakfast long wait at one point possibly through lack of staff. half a grapefruit put in a dish segments not cut given steak knife to cut ourself. toast 2slices put on a plate not in a toast rack not toasted properly might as well be eating a slice of bread. evening meal not up to standard. Caesar salad swimming in dressing. very very disappointed .

Perfection.

My stay was perfect from the minute I stepped through to door. I was greeted by the very energetic Emelia (I think that was her name) who was my host for most of the evening. Emelia checked me in to my room which may I say was very nice and which to my surprise came with complimentary brandy and beer. Once I had checked in I came down for dinner, 3 courses later retired to bed very satisfied. The food was nothing less than superb. After a great nights sleep with a great breakfast in mind I chose the full English breakfast. Well again I was not disappointed. I enjoyed a breakfast fit for a new King. 5 star quality. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and this small town establishment certainly rivalled and beat many of the 5 star hotels I have stayed in. I shall certainly book up and stay at the Fox in the future.
