Definitely would stay here again. The staff are amazing and so helpful and friendly!

Quiet and not many rooms so not crowded. Pool right outside your door. Water was clean and warm and always open. Next door to a very excellent restaurant. The Thursday evening social was a great idea. Very friendly guests.

We are already planning our next stay here!

Our stay was wonderful from the moment that we arrived. The staff went above and beyond for every question or request. The Cafe onsite was some of the best food in town and the pool (in the shade most of the times that we required a moment of respite) was always refreshing. Our room was small, which was perfect in its own way, because we were there to be outside and experience a different culture. They had a smart tv and we didn’t have to worry about outlet converters for out electronics. The shower had hot water (my husband was just being special and turned the knob the wrong way). The smoothies and coffee were a great way to start the day. Everything was great. We would have stayed longer, if I didn’t have to go home to my dogs!

There’s not really anything that I didn’t like about the property. If I have any complaints l, it is about creatures comforts that I realize are subject to personal opinions and expectations from not recently traveling extensively in other countries. I just need more practice. For example: Occasional ants (we were in Costa Rica…) Not being able to flush paper (we were in Costa Rica) See? Ridiculous and has nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel, was awesome.

Exceptional

The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff exceeded all my expectations and the hotel made it easy to meet other travelers. The weather was very hot in Tamarindo, and the hotel's pool was a great way to cool off. AC and a mini fridge was also a relief to the extreme weather. I would definitely stay again!

10 out of 10—excellent hotel!!!

We liked everything about In The Shade. The location is in the heart of Tamarindo. The hotel is adult only and that benefit was fabulous! The pool is pristine. The staff is absolutely unbelievably great when it comes to service and assistance for setting up excursions and they are friendly. It seems to me that the entire staff wants their visitors to relax, enjoy and leave the work to them. I cannot say enough great things about the staff—10 out of 10!!!! The food they cook by the pool is amazing. The price per night is great too. Also the Dragonfly restaurant next door has fabulous food and live music.

Exceptional

The location is fantastic, close enough to the beach and downtown while still being away from everything and quiet, it's just a short walk to anything you need. The staff is exceptional and really pay attention to detail. The food is delicious, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the co-working area and Wi-Fi are the best in Tamarindo.

The only thing I didn't like about in the shade is having to leave.

Perfect relaxing stay with high speed internet

We only stayed one night, but wished we could’ve stayed longer. The room was clean and spacious, the enormous swimming pool was amazing, and the coworking area with fast internet was just perfect as I had to work while being here.

Nothing really, we just really enjoyed it!

Very comfy and clean rooms!

Wonderful swimming pool and hotel rooms! Staff were also very helpful and kind.

The poolside cafe food was good but when the food arrived (both times) stuff was missing e.g. toast or hash browns etc.

Great stay to either enjoy Tamarindo or explore the nearby beaches.

Good location next to the center of Tamarindo and near the beach. Kind staff and owner. Very good breakfast. Very nice swimming pool.

Exceptional

Nice homey hotel. Off the Main Street but close for everything. Bunch of restaurants within 2 min walk.They cook breakfast and lunch and it’s really home cooking. The owner and staff very very friendly and helpful with any needs and information. highly recommended!

I enjoyed my stay, it was just what I was looking for as I wanted to visit Tamarindo. The staff are friendly and willing

I like the location , in center of town but tucked away in a side street, next to a great restaurant and close to other amenities. The staff was attentive which is great.

Little privacy as your window faces other rooms and the pool. In the shower there was a broken stand to hold your amenities however the shower is big enough and you don’t notice.

Great location and lovely modern hotel

Great location with everything just a couple of minutes away. Lovely pool area and a very comfy room. The staff was very helpful. If we are ever in Tamarindo again, we would stay here!

Ants in the bathroom at night, but never in the day. No trash bin in the room. There is a kids playground next door. It didnt really bother us, but I guess some might be a bit disturbed by it.
