Fabulous quiet villa short walk from beach
Everything was fantastic . Basically the ground floor with basement below . Owner lives in basement . The villa is traditional Greek property but has been wonderfully refurbished . 2 beds, large living room and kitchen with vaulted ceiling . Modern bathroom . Good shower . Wifi good . Balcony facing sea and mountains . 5-7 min walk to beach which has a number of very good tavernas. I would say that to get to the villa you would need a taxi or hire car as it’s at least 30 mins drive . Friendly owner . There are chickens and a vocal rooster whom competes vocally with other roosters in the area. But we liked that type of thing . Loved the villa and would highly recommend for a peaceful break.

Exceptional
I have been visiting Kalymnos for around 15 years now and have always stayed in Massouri or Armeos. Last year I visited on my honeymoon in early October, during relatively heavy travel restrictions, it was lovely because it was not so busy. This year my wife and I decided to return to Kalymnos to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The place we stayed at last year was booked up and most other places could not accommodate us for the full duration of our trip. Villa Polymnia was one of the few places that was available and I'm extremely glad it was. Staying in Emporios proved to be a dream and Villa Polymnia was the icing on the cake. In all my years of visiting Kalymnos I have not once found what I consider to be a comfortable bed! The mattress at Polymnia was much nicer than any another on the island. Added to that the location was superb. Easy walking distance of beaches and restaurants, of road parking for your hire car and every facility you could need in the villa. Having access to a washing machine was a boon and next time I stay it will mean I can get away with packing fewer clothes. Emporios is a quieter village than Massouri which if you're staying with your partner and wanting to relax, is perfect. There are also several crags within walking distance of the villa and we had several days where we didn't do any driving to go climbing. I'm sure I could go on but I doubt I need to. The place is perfect, just don't book it when I want to stay!
Whats not to like? The place is perfect!

remote village on a Greek island
- We wanted a house far from the busy touristy areas and that is what we got! - The house is equipped with everything you may need. - Even the car can be parked inside of the fence, so no need to worry about goats running wild in the night ;-) ... - We enjoyed the fact that even close by or after short trips, various climbing or hiking spots can be reached. - Our hosts went far beyond what you may expect from normal hosts - if you want contact with Greek people and the possibility to enjoy fresh Greek food in a lovely atmosphere, this is for you! If you want to be all on your one - better go to an anomymous hotel...
- We loved everything. - At the start, we were upset because Emporious is a small village and the various roosters living there start a concert at about five o'clock in the morning, which woke us up. After having had enough of a rest, we took this as an opportunity to get up early and to be at the climbing site before it gets too hot.

You´ll leave a piece of your heart in Emporios also thanks Polymnia
Villa Polymnia is situated in a quiet place, just a minute walk from the see. The owners are nice, you can also learn a lot about octopus fishing :-). Rooms are clean, beds comfortabe. A washing machine is also available, so it´s not necessary to climb in too "fragrant" t-shirt for weeks :-). Good restaurants are nearby and also you can find several "secret" small beaches in the vicinity, during your rest days. I strongly recommend!
