The room was spotless and had all the facilities we needed. The lady in charge that day allowed us to check in early after we arrived nearly two hours before our check in time.

Narrow stairs to get to the room, small room.

The room had clearly been refurbished and presented nicely. The bed was comfortable and the shower room/ lavatory clean and recently done. There was sufficient hanging and storage space for clothes etc. But these surely are minimum standards for "hotel' accommodation?

This was very poor value for money, exoensive for what was provided. The place is a warren of narrow corridors and stairs everywhere. The room was eccentric in layout as the interior of the building is chopped about to fit in as many rooms as possible. I assume it passes fire regs as the (fire?) doors are heavy/difficult to open. So anyone with luggage will struggle. The entrance and corridors made it feel a bit like I imagine an old doss house might be arranged. For £95 a night: 1. no breakfast is provided 2. The shower is one of those electric affairs with a tiny shower head, in the end I unhooked it to hose myself down, there was no point trying to stand under it. 3. The room was cold but there was no way of turnjng on the radiator 4. On arrival you had to turn on a wall switch to get hot water and activate the shower. If the cost had been nearer £60/night I may have been less annoyed about the shortcomings although the warren-like feel would still have been disturbing. I would not choose to stay here again under any circumstances
