Vriendelijke ontvangst. Vantevoren al contact per app over de aankomst.Duidelijke instructies. Prachtige accommodatie met een heel fijn zwembad. Midden in de natuur, ultieme stilte. Aan details gedacht zoals een fles wijn in de koelkast bij aankomst en een takje rozemarijn op de handdoeken gelegd. We mochten de verse vijgen plukken en verveine om thee van te maken. Hier ook zeker gebruik van gemaakt. Mountainbike s kunnen huren van de eigenaars Met alles erop en eraan. Rugzakje, handschoentjes en helm. Erg genoten van de luxe en rust.
Er viel niets tegen, maar je moet er wel rekening mee houden dat je een minuut of 20 auto rijden van Tondela af zit en de weg erg donker is wanneer je bij terugkomst van een restaurant weer de berg op moet rijden.

The place is absolutely delightful. Immaculately kept, and as beautiful as the pics. The room we stayed in (1st floor) has amazing views. Whilst there is air-con available, it wasn't needed, as the temperature dropped in the evenings, so we slept with the mosquito nets across the open windows, listening to nothing but the sounds of wildlife - bliss!
Note, whilst not explicitly stated on the property listing, the place is VERY close to an "ecopista" (cycle path on former railtracks) - along which you can cycle to Viseu (and further) in one direction. This is a perfect property for exploring it from!!! I've included some pics.
The swimming pool is delightful - it's a complete sun-trap with glorious views. The lack of light polution gives stunning night-time vistas too!
The nearby town of Tondela has some interesting looking restaurants (including one with a Michelin bib gourmande), although I must admit, we ate at the property most evenings, as the view was just beautiful! If you're at all into cars, a visit to the museum at Caramulo is absolutely worth it - some incredible vehicles in a private collection there.
Caroline, the host, is a lovely, friendly person, who wants you to enjoy your stay. She left us a a kind gift of a bottle of wine and some icecreams on our arrival!
(We were fortunate enough to have the entire place to ourselves when we were there, which was utterly divine!)

This is definitely not that (as we had THE BEST stay!) - but just something to be aware of. There are 4 rental properties on site here - a 3-bed house, a 2-bed house, and two separate rooms. The 2-bed house and the two rooms all share a kitchen, which wasn't obvious to us until after we booked. There are no drinks making facilities in the rooms, so you need to go to the kitchen to make yourself a morning cup of tea (okay okay, I'm a Brit!)

The pool, villa and surroundings were beautiful and finished to a very high standard. The villa was well equipped and the beds very comfortable! The garden is luscious and lots of the trees bare delicious edible fruits! Host, Caroline is lovely and very accommodating. Location is quiet and very peaceful. There are 2 villas next to each other, would be perfect for 2 families travelling together.
