Clean, nice place with loong history, with beautiful location at the end of the valley

The lodge is in an incredible location in Stechelberg, at the end of the Lauterbrunnen valley, with breathtaking views. It is very conveniently located for hiking and visiting the area. The rooms were freshly refurbished and very cozy and comfortable. Great value for the location, would visit again.

The location, not in the heart of all the tourists, but off more in the “quiet country”

The beds weren’t the most comfortable. After traveling through germany and Lucerne, I had anticipated doing laundry here. I was warned about clothes getting locked jn the machine if the cycle was over an hour. I set it for 30 mins to make sure that wouldn’t happen to me, but my clothes still got locked in the washing machine. I called the owner and he was very kind. He sent someone on site to help. The man wanted me to put more money in the machine but I explained to him that I only retrieved enough Swiss francs for exactly what I needed for the machine. He obliged and put money in himself. The clothes took quite a while to wash and did not seem clean. And my clothes did not dry either. So I wouldn’t rely on doing laundry here. There’s not really any privacy because the walls and everything is thin-you hear everyone and every thing. But the facility itself was nice-modern/updated bathroom, there’s an area to eat/play games, a kitchen to cook with all the necessary cooking supplies.
