Charming chalet in Chamonix. We loved our room and the location.

A lovely hotel, very charming with a spacious beautiful room (room #1) and a big bathroom, very unusual for ski resort hotels at any level. Benoit was an awesome and warm host, kind and attentive at all times. We loved our stay at Hotel le Castel. Breakfast was homey and fresh. Great location with a 45-second walk to Flagere gondola and the bus stop at our doorstep! Highly recommended.

I would have loved some frech toast or pancakes for breakfast.

If you want hospitality and service, don’t stay there until they change some staff!

At this moment nothing to like at all here - as the stay was ruined by one staff who is working today at 10:28 am on the reception, he came and start screaming as mad in the morning. He claimed we should have not stayed at the hotel even though we have paid for this night!!! It is ridiculous! If I pay for the accommodation, it is my right to stay at the room! He was trying to kick us out when we paid for our stay! Then he stepped on my leg next to my husband’s face , ran to kitchen to ask them to attack us with words that they got the big guy there, more two men came, that’s totally inappropriate, we told to call to police, as a residents of UAE it will be big problem when three men trying to attack me as a woman. but he start shouting more, such people should not work in hospitality! If you don’t want to have spoiled vacation, don’t stay at this place as long as such people work here. He even started to scream we need to pay for hot chocolate and tea that the owner treated us. I have never had to pay for something I didn’t order and was invited for by the owner himself. I would have never drunk it!! As long as this person works in this hotel I will never come back And tell all my huge respected circle of friends in Europe and GCC never to come. To protect my girls and their husbands from such awful treatment

Very good

The room is spacious and the bathroom is luxurious. The food in the restaurant is good.

Our room was on the road side and there was traffic noise. A little pricey too.

Beautiful hotel but slow service and helicopter noise

Perfect location for Le Flégère, the cable car which is less than 2 minutes walking. The design is gorgeous, the dining area is well thought out, and interiors of the room fantastic. Super comfortable beds, great shower, very beautifully designed bathroom and the smaller fittings in the room also have very thoughtful designs. AC works very well.

Breakfast options are severely limited, the breakfast hours are stated as operating until 10;00am however by 9:00am most items were completely finished and they made no effort to replenish. Given that the options are also few it’s disappointing. There were two hot dishes, 3 cheese selection, one bread, two pastry, fruit bowl and yogurt. There was salmon but they never replenished. The quality of the items are high, but for such few options I would expect them to be more proactive about replenishing at that price point. Overall service is very slow and not attentive, assume you will always wait a while before being served whenever you sit down. No elevator, it’s a small property but something to consider for future guests if this is a necessity, the hotel has 11 rooms in total. Noise is also a concern. The helicopter pad is very nearby and will be in service from early hours which disturbed our sleep.

Perfect room

Loved the room facing mt blanc! It is so worth the extra money, with the balcony and all. Lovley room with all you need! The first days we also got crossaints for free in the morning, in the reception- a very nice treat. Very nice location outside chamonix.

Traffic noise! Roads on all sides of the hotel. The hotel cant fix that, its just how it is.

Beautiful stay just outside the busyness of Chamonix

Beautiful setting. Great balcony...Views were breathtaking! Lovely and comfortable room decor. Updated bathrooms were so nice. Free parking across the street. Right beside Les Praz gondola/chairlift.

Loved our stay

Very tastefully decorated room with beautiful mountain views. Loved the bathroom with its claw foot bath (room 11) The hotel is in a great location for La Flegere ski lift and across the road from the golf course.

Exceptional

Fantastic location with gorgeous views, scenery and beauty! The aria was very quiet and relaxing. The restaurant - top quality and absolutely delicious! We were served by very nice and helpful people, real professionals. The room was unique!!! With all the comfort, luxury and facilities that you can expect and even more! Excellent!

The hotel Castel was good all around .. the twin beds the mattresses were old and sunken .. but room size . Facilities. Location , food and staff were all very good .. I would return to hotel Castel no problem .. excellent manager with equally good staff .

The mattress were sunken .. the radiator in the bathroom didn’t work .. but the room had other heating and was as warm as you wanted it to be .., BUT I needed somewhere to dry my ski stuff .. so need a working radiator.. the bathroom did not need a rad it was not cold .. at all .. but just to dry ski stuff

Great hotel - just what I needed to overnight break the drive back from Italy to Calais.

The room was very comfortable and excellent value for money. The restaurant offered great food and wine, and the view of Mont Blanc illuminated by the setting sun was beautiful. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location was perfect - there was easy parking close by and the neighbourhood was quiet.

There really was nothing I did not like.

The location is great for those looking for a bit more quiet holiday compared to Chamonix centre. Superb views from the room and the hotel restaurant.

The breakfast could have a bit more variety like more fresh fruits.

A great location with beautiful aesthetics - recommended for those who aim to eat out for every meal.

this is a Beautiful hotel, perfectly situated to the les Praz cable car, and the bus to Chamonix just on the doorstep. Great restaurant downstairs. Very hospitable staff - Jade was so hospitable and helpful

The small room really is small. Despite having a two basins in the bathroom there is only one deck chair and storage for one suitcase. Soundproofing works to keep down the noise of the busy main road outside the window, but less effective on noise from the other rooms. I didn’t notice the absence of a small fridge in the ammenities listed, and this was pretty disappointing when we arrived and realised the wasn’t one. I understand they want to drive business to their restaurant and breakfast service, but for a destination known for sporting and outdoor activities, it would be reasonable that guests may want to chill water bottles, keep some food for a hiking lunch or chill some wine. No such luck. No cutlery, wine glasses or bottle opener in the rooms, and the reception and restaurant is also totally closed an empty for long periods in the afternoon, so you can’t order any food or drinks to your room either.
