The room we had was spacious and well set out. Plenty of blankets and pillows provided. More available on request. The microwave, toaster and tea/coffee etc were also greatly appreciated.

I found the bed too firm and my back ached. Luckily there were occasional chairs available for me to sit in when I couldn't sleep. You need to be agile to step over the bath to have a shower.

the room was one of many but did feel safe. As night came, it was very quiet on the main road outside. i enjoyed the late dusk walk into town which was about 1KM. around 6pm, August 26. Very quiet and hardly a car or person to be seen. The Maldon Hotel was busy and in good cheer. bed was comfortable as best i can remember. i don't think the brass bed was really necessary. a small table was provided for a cuppa but the chairs provided were too low to use other than for easy sitting away from the table.

room was very tiny, no floor coverings for winter. bathroom pokey and awkward to reach into shower handles, plasticised shower curtain, slippery bath to stand on. did not see the clear plastic bathmat till after. This property, the Motel Maldon is right beside the Eaglehawk country house hotel, and is easily confused as the one when looking for a property to stay. The eaglehawk country house is the true period property with all the lovely features whereas the Motel Maldon is not the same place. somehow i got the wrong impression and is why i ended up disappointed when we arrived at the period building but realized we were misled. easy to do when you use street view as a guide!!!
