A very comfortable, nicely furnished and convenient base for a visit to beautiful Royal Deeside.

Excellent location within walking distance of beautiful Ballater centre. Nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. Private patio area in the sun. Friendly greeting on our arrival.

Just a few minor issues that can be easily sorted: no salt or oil in the kitchen, only some random pepper. Many places include basic condiments but I realise this isn't always provided. Cooker hob numbers had rubbed off so it took a while to work out which way to turn them to heat the hot plates fully. No doormat at patio doors so we kept bringing leaf litter into the living room on our shoes. Couldn't get a plug into one of the sockets in dining area.

Fabulous private apartment base for exploring Cairngorms.

We booked this property for two nights. Ballater is a good location if you are exploring the greater Cairngorm area. Most sites are within 60 minutes drive. It was a short walk into town -- we walked around town, purchased local butcher and baker goods, and utilized the kitchen for one of our dinners. The bedroom space is very good. The living area was fabulous - leather couch and television, dining table. Our hosts were great, very responsive to our inquiries. The place was unlocked and the keys were on the counter when we arrived, which was late. Parking was ample. The outside terrace is cute. We highly recommend this property.

Comfortable and convenient for town and local walks.

Not really anything was an issue.Perhaps the only omission was a washing machine which was listed in the visitor's guide but not found in the property.(Not that I particularly needed one on this visit actually!)

Overall, the bothy was very welcoming, easy to access and is one of the cleanest holiday homes we have ever been in.

exceptionally clean and spacious. Great location. would highly recommend.

Toilet door was hard to push open from the inside, but a trivial thing to complain about. Nothing needed but a little adjustment.

A comfortable guesthouse with great walking accessibility to my town center and hikes.

Great location easy to find and walking to pubs and restaurants. Many great walks/hike right out the door. Nice to have a grocery store walking distance. Loved having a French press for morning coffee. Lot of local information and guides in our guesthouse.

The open/accessible shower was a bit challenging but workable.

Perfect location, lovely cottage

The cottage was perfectly proportioned, very clean and comfortable. It was the absolute perfect distance for us, far enough from the village centre to be quiet yet close enough to walk easily to the wonderful shops. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Would highly recommend and would stay again

Glenernan was great. All of the facilities needed for a short or medium length stay were there including a washing machine which we didn’t expect but were happy to be able to use.

Excellent. Host gave us plenty of space, but we still knew they were available if we'd needed them.

A really lovely, well kept property, a short walk into town.

A couple of really trivial things, the wifi was weak, but it was an isolated location in the Highlands of Scotland. The bathroom door needs a little bit of planing as its tough to open and fully close.

Bothy Cottage. Quiet location within walking distance from the centre of the village. Good local amenities with a helpful visitor information office. Plenty of walking, cycling and fishing.

A great little chalet

The situation on the edge of Ballater was perfect and the little courtyard garden in the sun offered peace, quiet and fresh air. The little chalet was warm, comfortable and well appointed. The cooking facilities were well thought out and the hob responded instantly to temperature change. Great little kitchen with all we needed after our shopping trip! Loved the comfy bed and the shower worked well. The decor is restful and tastefully done.

The lack of a basic welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk meant we had to go shopping as soon as we arrived. This was ok for us as shops were still open, but it was less welcoming than the B+B we stayed in the day before for less money as they provided a welcome tray complete with biscuits. It would not cost too much to just put that in and would be appreciated by guests The bathroom door was sticking and I had to call my husband to pull it open when I got stuck inside. Might have been tricky if on my own. It would have been nice to see the owners just to touch base. These are minor issues and did not spoil our stay but are areas to improve.
